A more seamless airport experience! ✈️

The Airport Authority of Thailand launched its newest automated facial biometric system in six airports across the country on November 1, 2024, replacing the need for boarding passes and passports when flying.

The Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) uses facial recognition technology in identifying passengers, which improves the processing time in airports.

Passengers flying domestically are now able to use the new system in the following airports:
- Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok)
- Don Mueang International Airport (Bangkok)
- Chiang Mai International Airport (Chiang Mai)
- Mae Fah Luang/Chiang Rai International Airport (Chiang Rai)
- Phuket International Airport (Phuket)
- Hat Yai International Airport (Songkhla Province)

International passengers will be able to use ABIS beginning December 1, 2024.

To use the new biometrics system, passengers only need to register their biometric information at the check-in counter or Common Use Self-Service (CUSS). Thereafter, all they have to do is pass through the biometric verification point and automated boarding gate.
