29 weeks pregnant now and flying to Germany, starting a complete new chapter.

On social media we’re mostly just showing the beautiful side of our lives right?!?
Just to be real: After the wonderful session yesterday my car broke down and I had trouble getting home. Today I do have an headache and feel very low energy. Can’t go anywhere because my car is at the mechanic anyway…
If you think your life isn’t exiting enough, remember that even on a paradise island there’s a woman doing boring admin work and couching on a Tuesday afternoon. :)

This year it’s really a time to slow down, to rest, reflect and look into the future with excitement 🔮!

My intention and enthusiasm to become more active again on social media lastet for a day! 🙃
Maybe with some more rest, good food and sunshine I will get inspired and share more about hormonal health soon.

It has been around 12 years…
since I ate meat the last time!

I did it - I ate chicken again last night ! It might not sound like a big deal for many people. I was so nervous even buying a piece of meat for myself. Never paid attention the last years to all different categories of meat and got a bit overwhelmed, as I wanted to buy good quality and following my own ethical guidelines.

And what to say… it was actually quite tasty. 😋

You might wonder why I‘m turning away from being a vegetarian or vegan!

I really tried a lot the last few months to get enough proteins and especially iron from a pescatarian diet. It’s just not enough for my diet. My iron levels are extremely low and I‘m tired of supplements and IV‘s.

Research shows that for ideal hormonal balance and fertility (I would say also perimenopause) it’s extremely challenging to be on a vegan or vegetarian diet.

I will try to make informed, conscious choices about my consumption and wish that many others would do so to.

Writing this while I’m on my way to Berlin for a few days… I‘m actually happy, that I didn’t try to squeeze classes in while I‘m in Berlin. Having too much stress during the luteal phase is an absolute overkill and the recipe for PMS. Instead I‘m focusing now on slow travels, meeting friends and getting enough quality food and sleep.

Yoga is not about touching your toes. It is what you learn on the way down.”– Jigar Gor.

So true! The Yoga retreat in Portugal was the perfect “get away” to strengthen & stretch our bodies. But even more important to connect to our true self and others to feel and to be in community!

We shared also about the importance of a balanced lifestyle and exercise routine!

“Strength Training or Yoga: Can One Alone Transform Women’s Fitness?”

For perimenopausal women a well balanced routine between strength training, walking and Yoga including Pranayama and Meditation, would be the best medicine! 💊

I also noticed that there’s a lot of fear when it comes to strength training - especially when training with heavy weights.

For that reason I’m gonna pair up with an expert on that: .mynd!
Chloe is a personal trainer, Yogini and is also interested and educated in women’s health!

Still feeling so nourished from our retreat in Portugal!

I’m already in my lutheal phase and it feels all super easy going. No premenstrual syndromes so far. Our cycle is a reflection on how we were treating ourselves the past 2-3 months . This is roughly the time the body needs to mature the egg, which is then ready for ovulation. So everything you do now, will affect your cycle in September and October. 🤯
(By the way: that also counts for the production of s***m in men)

I had a fabulous time in Portugal from the end of May until now in Germany. I ate good food, drank quality water (!!!), focused on enough sleep, made time for exercise and strength - even when travelling, and planned enough time for integration and relaxation.

I’m also trying something new to reduce PMS. If it works for me, I’ll share it with you. ❤️

Honestly I can still improve on reducing my caffeine intake through Matcha, but that might take some time:) Don’t we all need one thing, we can hold on like a crutch ?!

Oh thank you body for waiting with my period until the day of the full moon 🌕 and my travels! You couldn’t have picked a better day 🙈

Trying to figure out what comfort food and snacks I’ll buy to have a smooth journey. :)

I actually like travelling…. and I’m super excited to be in Europe after a long and really extra hot “dry and hot season”!

First three weeks for - teaching another 200h Yoga teacher training in Portugal!!!
Then two weeks holidays and reconnecting with friends.

And then it’s time for our Retreat: Reconnect and Rejuvenate
29th June - 4th July!

📸captured by two thai photographers who were taking pictures from a new coffee shop in Nathon, Samui. Instead of refusing that someone takes pictures of me (after running around on hot Samui 🥵and feeling super sweaty)-I made new friends.

I notice that in many situations I’m much more gentle than I used to be.
Anyone else discovering this in your 40’s?!
In my 20’s and 30’s I was a lot more fiery!
Now I know what I want -and what not- but in a more chilled way!

Benefits and disadvantage of getting older:
I know my resources! So when it feels like 300 degree outside I won’t wait and go straight into an ac coffee shop! And Matcha is always a good resource for me:)

I’m more experienced and know that the only way to be successful in Thailand is to stay calm and to keep your s**t together.

Downsides are many but just to name a few: I’m more sensitive to noise, I discovered a few days ago that my eyesight is getting worse, PMS and Hormonal imbalances can easily get out of hand if your not taking care and therefore more of course.

Another benefit is that I’m much more educated and understand what my body needs. I wish I would have known more about the cycle and hormonal balance earlier in my life.

As you see me working in a coffee shop: I’m launching my next online course soon. It’s for all of you ladies who are fighting PMS every month!

Mika & Rayk are the founders of futurehippie and can‘t wait to grow the modern hippiecommunity. You may know Mika from her first brand MikaYoga. In Rayk she found the missing puzzles for her life and for futurehippie. She‘s a passionate Yogini and loves to teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and FasciaYoga. Ecstatic Dance and swimming are one of her favorite activities .

She met Rayk at a Yogaworkshop in Berlin and he was crazy enough to follow her to Cambodia where they used to work and live. Before he decided to change his life he worked in finance. With this background and as a lifecoach you might wanna book a session for lifecoaching with him.
