Our no touch elephant-friendly sanctuaries in Koh Lanta and Krabi offer rescued elephants a peaceful home where they can interact naturally.

If you’ve followed our sanctuary for a while, you’ll know just how much this milestone means. Many of you joined us when Pimpa was first rescued, and you’ll likely remember one of our most emotional videos ever: Pimpa meeting Monty-Aaron through the enclosure barriers. Having tragically lost her own calf in her past life, Pimpa’s deep, beautiful curiosity since Monty-Aaron’s birth touched all of us. Today we share the moment the barriers finally came down.

With their dedicated mahouts keeping a watchful eye, Motif and Monty-Aaron were let out of their enclosure. Motif was completely relaxed, whilst little Monty-Aaron was a bundle of energy, running straight over to greet Pimpa.
It went just as we all hoped. Pimpa was incredibly gentle and loving, instantly connecting with little Monty-Aaron, while Motif was completely calm, generously sharing her precious calf with Pimpa.

We are endlessly proud of Motif and how beautifully she is taking to motherhood, but today, watching Pimpa’s giant steps towards her own happiness and ongoing rehabilitation, after everything she has been through, is the greatest reward.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Pimpa on her journey to this exact moment. 💚🐘

Sunshine and Peach may not be related by blood, but the way they play is just like real siblings. 🍑☀️🐘💚

One minute they are splashing around playfully in the pool, and the next they are getting up to absolute mischief. Just look at that cheeky little kick from Sunshine, sending Peach stumbling back into the water before they both sprint off together.

Thank you to everyone who helped us rescue these two beautiful babies. Because of your support they now have the chance to play freely and just be calves—all under the watchful, loving eye of Auntie Silk.

Today marks one year of freedom for beautiful Lychee, who was rescued from 40 years of hard labour in the logging and riding industries, thanks to and all of our global supporters.

Her journey to retirement wasn’t easy. At first, freedom was overwhelming, and Lychee spent her first eight months keeping to herself, unsure of her new world.

But everything changed when baby Peach arrived. Rescued in December 2025, little Peach possessed a gentle nature that completely broke through Lychee’s walls. Peach began leaving the main herd to spend quiet moments with Lychee, patiently offering her comfort. 💚

That gentle bond changed everything. Peach gave Lychee the confidence she so desperately needed, and today, Lychee is happily integrated into the herd, surrounded by friends and finally learning how to simply be an elephant again.

Thank you to everyone who helped us rescue her and gave her this second chance at life. 🐘💚✨

Yesterday was all about Monty-Aaron’s first steps outside his enclosure. Today, see how he handles the natural terrain and meets another mahout along the way. Every moment is a lesson for Monty-Aaron, and a chance for us to reinforce Mum Motif’s trust. 🌿💚

We love reading your feedback, and someone asked how we manage the return to their enclosure. Watch closely—this is their safe haven, and they wander back happily without any interference from us.

Stick around until the very end for a surprise appearance from some other new residents.

The wait is finally over! Monty-Aaron has taken his very first steps out of his enclosure, alongside his amazing Mum, Motif. As you’ll see, he took it all in his excited stride, testing out his balancing skills and figuring out exactly how his trunk works.

Behind the scenes:
A milestone like this takes an incredible amount of dedication. Their mahout joined them for every single step, rewarding Motif with treats to keep her reassured. While Motif is a wonderful mum, she is naturally protective, and introducing Monty-Aaron to a whole new world was bound to make her extra vigilant. For the safety of everyone involved, keeping her at ease was our top priority. Since Motif’s arrival, we knew this day would come—a day where a mother who has tragically had a calf taken from her in the past would have to trust humans around her new baby.

For the last six weeks, our team, not just her mahout, has been working hard to build a deep bond of trust with her. This involved spending time near the enclosure, bringing regular, tasty gifts, helping clean their space, and gradually moving closer. While baby elephants are naturally inquisitive, playful, and love to engage with humans, Motif needed to know that her calf was safe. This delicate process of building trust is exactly why keeping them in the comfort of their enclosure for the first few weeks was so vital.

We have plenty more updates to come, but for now, please enjoy watching this beautiful bull explore his new world. 🐘💚

We are still enjoying gloriously sunny days, but with the rains becoming a little more frequent here in Krabi, Forest, Sunshine, and Peach have even more refreshing spots to enjoy a cool-off and some muddy play.

For us, the rains bring more opportunities to watch elephants simply loving life. 💚

Meanwhile, over in Koh Lanta, Monty-Aaron is busy exploring his new forest home. A video will be coming soon, but for a first glimpse, check out our stories.

12/05/2026

While Monty-Aaron is busy stealing hearts at our Koh Lanta location, our herd over in Krabi shows exactly why this work is so vital.

Every elephant here is a rescue, many through our partnership with Seeing them now—foraging through the forest, socialising on their own terms, and living the life they always should have had—is everything. This is the reason we do what we do: to ensure these giants have the space and peace to simply be elephants.

Take a moment to wander through the forest with them. 🐘💚✨

We are absolutely speechless at the love for yesterday’s video—18 million views in 24 hours! ✨💚 Since bath time is a daily ritual for Monty-Aaron, we thought we’d share a little more of his fun and frolicking with his mahout. Watching him figure out his trunk and little legs is the daily serotonin boost we all need!

For those new to our page, here is the backstory: Monty-Aaron’s mum, Motif, was rescued from a riding camp in December with the help of our rescue partner . She was heavily pregnant at the time, and Monty-Aaron was then born safely at our sanctuary on April 3rd. Since then he has been in a safe enclosure to bond with his mum, grow stronger, and meet the rest of the herd through the barriers.

Now, Monty-Aaron is finally starting to explore our 45 acres and will be meeting his doting “aunties” over the coming week.

Just a gentle reminder: we are not a zoo. While Monty-Aaron is a natural-born star, he isn’t here to entertain guests. We are a no-touch sanctuary, and these playful moments are just a glimpse into his journey towards a life in our forest. 🌿

Thank you for the incredible love and for supporting ethical elephant care. 🐘💚🙏🏽

Our little Monty-Aaron has many talents, but efficiency might not be one of them. Watch as he tries his best to “help” his mahout.

We also have some exciting news to share. He’s officially ready to start exploring the wider sanctuary alongside his mum. Our main priority right now is ensuring that both Monty-Aaron and Motif feel completely relaxed and safe as they step outside their familiar enclosure and into new surroundings.

We know you’re all eager to follow his journey, and we promise to share more of their outdoor adventures as soon as possible.

It’s Friday, and we’re feeling playful!

Usually, we spend time coming up with the words to describe our elephants, but since it’s nearly the weekend, we thought we’d let you take the lead! 🐘

Instead of our usual reel, we’re sharing some of our favourite shots of Monty-Aaron having the absolute time of his life in his “bathtub.” He might be a baby elephant, but he’s already a big bundle of energy. Take a look at that first photo and that mischievous side-eye. He definitely knows he’s being cute and is playing up to the camera. 🐘💚

We want to see your creativity.
💬 Drop your best captions for these photos in the comments below! We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Wishing you all a happy, fun-filled Friday. 💚
