To keep history from repeating itself, strict daily visitor caps are heavily enforced to manage Maya Bay visitors per year. Access is now organized into strict hourly time slots, keeping daily numbers to a sustainable 2,400–4,125 people spread across the day. These caps give the bay's recovering blacktip reef sharks 🦈, coral gardens, and wildlife a fighting chance. Plus, keep in mind that the bay takes a brief, temporary break every year during the monsoon season for routine ecological recovery.
