Loi Krathong is one of the most romantic celebration in Thailand.

Loi Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar.

This year it will be 22 November.

Loi means ‘to float’, Krathong looks like such as Floating Crown, Floating Boat, Floating Decoration. The traditional krathong are made of the layers of the trunk of a banana tree or a spider lily plant. Modern krathongs are more often made of bread or styrofoam. A bread krathong will disintegrate after a few days and can be eaten by fish.

Where is celebrate?

Krabi Town along Krabi river. In waterfront you can find people who sale Krathong.

On the beach Noparratara (along the entire coast). Aonang Landmark is likely to be a performance on stage.

On all the beaches of Aonang, Klong Muang, you can also run Krathong.

The holiday begins in the evening when it gets dark. On the streets there are more people, families and loving couples are preparing their Krathongs for launch. On the street, there is a special atmosphere.

Thai people believe that it is necessary to launch Krathong at the high tide.
