Ko Lanta consists of two islands, namely Ko Lanta Noi and Ko Lanta Yai. The former being a designated national park and it is also the first island visitors will pass through enroute to Ko Lanta Yai on the ferry service. The ferry service has been in service for a long time and is the main mode of link between the two Ko Lantas and the mainland. Other boat transport services are also being operated by private operators using fast speedboats. Due to the growing popularity of Ko Lanta, a road bridge is now under construction to link the Yai (Big) and Noi (Small) of our islands, symbolising the inseparable links between the two islands. This is also the reason why a bridge was built linking the two islands but not with the mainland which will still be serviced by the ferries. The bridge will be ready in 2014.
