Because Chiang Mai is a top destination, it inevitably means crowds, queues, and throngs of people all vying to take the same photograph and buy the "same same" but different knock-off handbag and sandals. We try to find a new place or less touristy area in Chiang Mai with its spectacular hilltribe village, equally impressive waterfall, beautiful local atemple, welcoming locals, and reasonable price for you. Aside from the usual tourist attractions in Chiang Mai, there are heaps of beautiful underrated destinations off the usual tourist track for visitors who want a quieter and more authentic Chiang Mai experience.
