If you're looking for an adventure experience in Chiang Mai, white-water rafting on the Mae Taeng River is one of the most exciting choices. The route winds through lush jungle and mountain scenery, with sections of exciting rapids..
🌊 What to Expect
📍 Location: Mae Taeng River, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai
🚣 Rafting distance: commonly around 6–10 km
⏱️ Rafting time: roughly 1–3 hours depending on the route and conditions
🌿 Scenery: tropical jungle, mountains and rural landscapes
💦 Rapids: commercial routes can include approximately Grade 3–4 rapids, depending on the operator and river conditions.
🦺 Safety briefing and rafting equipment are normally provided before entering the river.
☔ Best Time to Go
The rainy season, especially July–October, generally brings higher water levels and more exciting rapids. Conditions can vary, however, so operators may adjust or suspend routes when water or weather conditions aren't safe.
