As a social enterprise, Gotoco has arranged for over 2,000 UK, North American and EU based students to visit China on our fun, funded and free work-travel and cultural exchange projects. We now offer projects all over the world, across SE Asia, S America and Europe. Gotoco always offers opportunities free / funded to university students as part of our social mission to make adventure, people-to-people cultural exchange, and world travel more accessible than it has ever been. We believe that there’s no better way to learn about a country than going there, hanging out with locals and trying out everything on offer. Gotoco is an award-winning, highly rated, certified social enterprise. We are rated highly by the 1,000s of participants that have taken part in programmes with us. We are award winning, for our work we have been shortlisted for various awards. For our efforts in building a community of young China watchers and offering support to educational institutions across China, we are finalists in the China Social Impact Awards, an award organised by the British Chamber of Commerce in China in partnership with the United Nations. For our TEFL and China education initiatives, we are bronze award winners for Best Educational Product with the British Youth Travel Awards. While for our provision of summer internships in China we were granted Gold Star Host status by the University of Oxford, and we've been voted most fun in the Teach Abroad category in the Go Overseas Community Choice Awards!

Layovers are boring, right? 👀

Unless you get creative 🤩

On my way to China , I had a stopover in Tashkent, Uzbekistan , so decided to get out of the airport and see what the city had to offer, adding an extra couple of days to my journey 🙌

A bit of exploring, some good food, and an awesome way to make your journey part of the adventure 👌

Honestly, not a bad way to break up a long journey ✈️🌍

Layovers have to be boring… right? 🤔

Wrong.

Instead of rushing to your destination, start your adventure early and chose an interesting layover. I spent mine exploring Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the way to my TEFL programme in China.

Next time you’ve got a long layover, leave the airport. You might just discover a place you’ll never forget.
