Patong Bay Vacation Club would like to wish a Happy Songkran to Everyone in Thailand - Sawasdee-pee mai!

The Songkran Festival is celebrated in Thailand as New Year's Day from 13 to 15 April every year.

It coincides with the New Year of many calendars of South and Southeast Asia. The festive occasion is in keeping with the Buddhist/Hindu solar calendar.

The traditional water pouring is meant as a symbol of washing away all sins and the bad. It is sometimes filled with fragrant herbs when celebrated in the traditional manner.

Happy Chinese New Year from Patong Bay Vacation Club!

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese year 4713 begins on Feb. 19, 2015.
Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day.
New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. In China, people may take weeks of holiday from work to prepare for and celebrate the New Year.
