Inspection visit to The Ancient City (Muang Boran), the world’s largest open-air museum—often compared with Inhotim (Brazil), though smaller in scale. The site preserves Thailand’s most important temples and monuments from different historical eras in one carefully curated setting. It was officially opened on 11 February 1972 by Lek Viriyaphan, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Located approximately 15 km away, the Erawan Museum (built in 2003) is also part of Lek Viriyaphan’s legacy. He was also the creator of the Sanctuary of Truth, built in 1981 and still under construction in Pattaya, Chonburi. The museum is distinguished by its iconic three-headed elephant, representing Thai spiritual beliefs rooted in Hindu and Buddhist traditions.

A meaningful cultural destination for global travelers exploring heritage and history near Bangkok.
