“เจ้าแม่ทับทิม” คือใคร มีประวัติความเป็นมาอย่างไร?

ก่อนอื่นต้องบอกก่อนว่า “เจ้าแม่ทับทิม” นั้นแท้จริงแล้วมีเพียงองค์เดียว คือ “”ตุยบวยเต้งเหนี่ยง“ (水尾圣娘) หรือ ”จุ้ยบ้วยเนี้ย“ แต่ในประเทศไทยนั้น หลายคนมีการเรียกชื่อเจ้าแม่ทับทิมคลาดเคลื่อนไป โดยเรียกรวม “องค์เจ้าแม่หม่าโจ้ว” หรือ “มาจู่” หรือ “เทียงเซียงเซี่ยบ้อ” ว่าเป็นเจ้าแม่ทับทิมด้วย ซึ่งสันนิษฐานว่าน่าจะมาจากชุดเครื่องทรงเครื่องประดับที่คล้ายคลึงกันและมีสีแดง แต่จริงๆ แล้วเทพนารีทั้งสองไม่ใช่องค์เดียวกันนะครับ โดยสรุปความต่างคร่าวๆ ได้ดังนี้

1. “เจ้าแม่ทับทิม” เทพนารีนักพรตที่ชาวจีนไหหลำนับถือ ชื่อจีนคือ ”ตุ๊ยบ่วยเต๊งเหนี่ยง“ (水尾圣娘) จีนกลางอ่านว่า ”สุ่ยเว่ยเซิ่งเหนี่ยง“ แต้จิ๋วอ่านว่า ”จุยบวยเซี่ยเนี้ย“ หรือนิยมเรียกชื่อสั้นๆ ว่า “จุ้ยบ้วยเนี้ย” ซึ่งแปลเป็นไทยว่า "เจ้าแม่ท้ายน้ำ” หรือ “พระแม่ปลายน้ำ" ศาลแห่งแรกที่หมู่บ้านตุ๊ยบ่วยซุย เกาะไหหลำ ถือเป็นเทพเจ้าจีนที่ได้รับความเคารพในหมู่ของชาวจีนไหหลำเป็นอย่างมาก และขยายความศรัทธามาถึงประเทศไทยครับ

2. “เจ้าแม่หม่าโจ้ว” หรือ “มาโจ้ หรือ ”พระแม่มาจู่“ เทพนารีที่สำคัญองค์หนึ่งสำหรับชาวจีน รวมไปถึงชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลที่อาศัยอยู่ตามที่ต่างๆทั่วโลก และผู้ที่ประกอบอาชีพเดินเรือหรือชาวประมง เพราะในอดีตผู้คนต้องเดินทางด้วยเรือที่เต็มไปด้วยภัยอันตรายมากมาย จึงพากันไหว้ขอพร ฃเจ้าแม่มาจู่” เป็นที่พึ่งทางใจก่อนเดินทาง เพราะท่านถือเป็นเทวีแห่งท้องทะเลที่ช่วยคุ้มครองผู้คนได้รอบด้าน และถือเป็นเจ้าแม่แห่งฟ้า หรือราชินีแห่งฟ้าด้วย คือมีบารมีคุ้มครองได้ครอบคลุมทั้งผืนฟ้าและผืนน้ำนั่นเองครับ

โดยผู้คนจะเรียกขานชื่อของท่านแตกต่างกันไปตามแต่ละท้องถิ่น เช่น “ม่าโจ้ว” “มาจู่” (媽祖) “เที้ยนเฮาเส้งโบ้” (天后聖母) หรือ “ม่าจ้อโป้” (媽祖婆) เป็นต้น

แต่ชาวจีนบางกลุ่มก็เรียกท่านว่า “ฉวนโถวเหนียง” (船头娘) แปลว่า “พระแม่หัวเรือ” เพราะเชื่อกันว่าท่านสถิตอยู่ที่หัวเรือ เหมือนกับความเชื่อเรื่อง “แม่ย่านางเรือ” ของไทย บางแหล่งข้อมูลจึงอ้างอิงว่าท่านคือจุดเริ่มต้นของ “แม่ย่านาง” ในประเทศไทย
