Koh Tachai is an island in the world famous Similan Islands - Thailand. It is an idyllic location in the Andaman sea with white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Snorkeling and scuba diving are easily accessible.Koh Tachai is unique in Thai waters in that it holds appeal for experienced & novice divers and snorkelers alike. There is no other place in Thailand where divers can get to see whale sharks/mantas off Koh Tachai's pinnacle whilst snorkelers enjoy the calm shallow bay. The beaches at Koh Tachai are spectacular with the white sand and clear water. For these reasons it is often referred to as the Maldives of Thailand.

Also on the first day during the ninth month of the lunar calendar the nine-day vegetarian festival is celebrated in Takuapa, Phang Nga province, in southern Thailand. This festival was created and performed for the first time more than 150 years ago. It is a purely local festival. Foreigners are very welcome by the local people but should respect the local customs, e.g. wearing a white shirt and trousers.
