Welcome to Insider Itinerary — take a front-row seat as our Visionary hoteliers craft the perfect day in their destination. This week, an expert guide to Como by the General Manager of , Barbara Gibellini.

At Palazzo Venezia, guests are immediately transported into the slower pace of lakeside life. The hotel’s suites are framed by the surrounding hills, while curated art and antiques echo the city’s storied craftsmanship. Mornings begin with an espresso-in-bed, while afternoons are spent exploring the local towns or traversing the lake itself. Evenings end with aperitifs on the rooftop, as sunset glows softly over the water.

It’s an unforgettable experience shaped by overwater villas and an exploration of what lies just beneath the surface.

At , the coastline has always been part of the experience — now it’s a destination of its own. The new Le Sirenuse Mare beach club, located in Nerano and built directly into the cliffside, extends the hotel’s presence beyond Positano’s center to a more secluded stretch of coast. Conceived by the Sersale family, who assembled a renowned team of architects, landscape designers, and artists to bring their vision to life, the boat-accessible destination features a waterfront restaurant and bar, an Emporio Sirenuse boutique, and a terrace of sunbeds set along the sea. Design remains consistent with the hotel’s identity — classic Italian motifs, playful custom ceramics, and a clear focus on the coast. It’s a serene, sun-drenched counterpoint to one of Positano’s most recognizable retreats.

For Brazil-based designer and creative director , a stay at Lapa Palace offered something increasingly rare: ease. Tucked within Lisbon’s peaceful Lapa neighborhood, the 19th-century palace has long served as a retreat for creatives drawn to its layered interiors and garden-lined seclusion. Original frescoes, stained glass, and hand-painted details remain woven throughout the property, preserving the atmosphere of a grand private residence.

High in the Dolomites, summer reveals a different side of one of the world’s most recognizable landscapes. At Hotel La Perla, warmer months shift the focus from ski runs to open trails, with hiking and mountain biking routes extending directly from the village into the surrounding peaks. Wildflower meadows and stony peaks replace the iconic blankets of winter snow, while lift systems continue running to panoramic views. After a long day outdoors, La Perla offers a familiar home base you can sink into.

Inside Anassa Hotel, a new chapter of design is unfolding with the season. Inspired by traditional Cypriot villages, the property’s white-stone buildings, terracotta roofs, and winding pathways have been carefully updated to reflect the hotel’s unique sense of isolation. A major renovation has introduced refreshed interiors — materials, textures, and color palettes draw more directly from the surrounding landscape, while shared spaces bring a greater sense of flow across the property. The panoramic main terrace has also been updated, just in time to savor the first summer sunsets. As it reopens its doors for the season, Anassa remains a love letter to Cyprus.
