The flowering desert is happening AGAIN this year!!!

There has been a record amount of rain in the southern Atacama. We will once again be offering this flash tour to anyone wishing to experience a phenomenon that only comes around every few years or so, even if this is a rare instance of back-to-back years.

A wonderful country—Romania. 🇷🇴

Great plants, colourful meadows, spectacular gorges and mountain peaks, delicious fruits and papanași, traditional villages, and magnificent horses.

Our tour has just come to an end, and we’re already looking forward to returning to this beautiful country soon.

Finally some more photos from our ‘Lilies of Turkey’ Tour that has just finished a few days ago.
Despite the late season there was plenty to see around and we managed to see all of the target Lily species 😃

Our ‘Lilies of Turkey’ tour is already at the halfway point, and we’ve been seeing some wonderful plants — including , rediscovered by our botanists after around 130 years of apparent absence from the wild.

Last day took us up Mount Voras. Wasn’t quite prepared for the crocuses. 🌱
Millions of them. Covering the slopes as far as you could see. One of those things that’s difficult to photograph properly because the scale of it just doesn’t translate.
A good way to end the trip.

Drive from Meteora to Metsovo. The plants in the lowlands were already plenty to look at, then the road climbed into the Pindus range and it all changed. Quite a shift in a short distance.

Delphi morning to afternoon — two very different kinds of looking. 🌿
Spent the first half of the day on the archaeological site itself, then moved out into the surrounding fields after lunch. That’s where the orchids were — scattered through the grass on the near slopes, flowering quietly away from most of the foot traffic.
Easy to walk straight past if you’re not paying attention.
We photographed as many as we could — will sit down with the books later and try to work out what we were actually looking at. Speices, varieties, hybrids, dividers, lumpers.. very confusing 🫤

🌿 Where the gods once roamed, the wildflowers still bloom. ✨
Yesterday we wandered the sacred slopes of Mt. Parnassos, and nature did not disappoint. Limestone outcrops covered in cushion plants, aromatic herbs everywhere underfoot and exciting bulbs.
