The Father of Medicine Hippocrate's Birthplace: the island of Cos or Kos, Greece, within an easy reach from Bodrum, Turkey with daily sea ferries connections

Kos island is where he was born and so, naturally, there are plenty of Hippocrate themed attractions and links to the Greek physician.
Look out for Hippocrates' tree on the Platía Platanou (or "Square of the Platane"), in front of the Castle of Knights and next to the Gazi Hassan Mosque (erected in 1776) in the centre of Kos town.
Hippocrates is said to have held classes under the parrent tree.
The current tree is only about 500 years old, but may possibly be a descendant of the original tree which allegedly stood there 2400 years ago, in Hippocrates' time.
