⏳Almost 4000 years people live in Tlos or around the ancient city this big site with a rich past, inhabited by Lycians, Romans, Byzantines and eventually Ottoman Turks.

⏳The ancient city of Xanthos famous with the heroic deeds of its people - not once they burned their city so it did not get to the enemy.

🌄This is one of the oldest city referred to in the "Iliad" of Homer. Xanthos was the residence of the King.
It was one of the most powerful cities of the ancient time and the capital of the Lycians.

⚔️1st Median King and his army in 545 BC.
⚔️2nd Roman Empire by Brutus in 42 BC. surrounded the city in both situation Lycians figured out that there was no chance of defeat enemies or escape from them, they set fire to their homes and property, killed all children, and women so that they did not become slaves and fought until the last man.
