Pierre Loti Hill is a hill overlooking the Golden Horn in Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul. The hill got its name from the French novelist and orientalist Julien Viaud, who came to Istanbul in 1876 and settled here, and is known for frequently visiting a coffee house on this hill.
The proposal submitted to the city council in order to change the name of the hill to Eyüpsultan Tepesi
received great objections from many circles and was rejected by the city council. Tepe and its tea garden with the same name are also frequented by tourists coming to Istanbul. Access to the hill is also possible with the TF2 (Eyüp - Pierre Loti) Cable Car Line.
