When solo traveling there had been times I got tired of being on the road all the time, feeling spiritually and economically consumed, want to stop, renew, just write or chill. Like the day this photo was taken. I was resting in a tiny cafe in a village and met this lovely family. When I look at it now it was not a travel but inutterably happy life on the road.
People will tell you all the time that you can’t do something, they will tell you it is dangerous or change is risky, choosing a different path is hard, doesn’t worth it, nobody else does it, that it’s crazy..But how about gifting yourself the freedom of being you no matter how crazy your ideas sound? Wish you more risks and more freedom in 2020🎈
(Beautiful words from Leo Buscaglia with one of my favourite photos with locals in Colombia when volunteering in a coffee farm).
“..laugh is to risk appearing a fool,
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement,
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return,
To live is to risk dying,
To hope is to risk despair,
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow,
But he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or live.
Chained by his servitude he is a slave who has forfeited all freedom.
Only a person who risks is free”
