We are celebrating the 95th anniversary of the foundation of Republic of Turkey, one of the oldest republics of the world.

Also today is the opening of the Istanbul's new airport which will be the largest airport of the world in all concepts.

On August 17, Istanbul Ataturk Airport handled a total of 1441 flights and 230 000 passengers including transit passengers - an all-time record for the Airport.

The 3rd Istanbul Airport will open at the end of October and there will be no flights at the Ataturk Airport or at the New Airport between Oct 29 and Oct 31. All the services of the Ataturk Airport is planned to be moved to the New Airport in 45 hours. The New Airport will be the largest airport in the world with a yearly capacity of 200 million passengers, 90 million for the first phase.
