Today at the Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Mosque, seeing storks gliding across the sky without even flapping their wings made me feel that spring has arrived. The cemre has fallen, the equinox has passed, and spotting the storks in the air again filled me with so much joy.
Every March, many bird flocks pass through Istanbul as they migrate from Africa to Europe. Last year, and I went birdwatching with two guests from England — it was a wonderful day.
I imagine the birdwatching activities at Istanbul’s observation centers have probably started again. After a long winter, it feels like we’ve really missed the summer.
