It was great to have our long time guests back in Istanbul after an absence of four years. I enjoyed helping them rediscover their favourite places in Istanbul and organising their side trips to Cesme and Samsun. Safe journey back to Australia. Hope to see you again next year!

Balat is an area of Istanbul located along the Golden Horne just beyond the Spice Bazaar.A Jewish quarter since the Byzantine era the area has centuries old Ottoman wooden houses incolours of pink, yellows and browns. More recently artisans, designers and galleries have found their way into the area - but it still retains its characters and local feel. Further along is Fener, home to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral and Fener Rum Lisesi, the oldes Greek school in the world! Why not take a hosted walk through these fascinating streets on your visit to Istanbul - perhaps on Sunday when the local market takes place! Just email us for details or our hosted walks through the back streets of Istanbul!
