This beautiful modern duplex poolside apartment sleeps 4 people and has 2 bedrooms/3 bathrooms. The apartment is bright and spacious, and includes every modern convenience - an elegant lounge with dining area, full kitchen, wifi, aircon, UK TV, Netflix, bluetooth speakers, games cupboard and book/music library. The apt is south-facing with floor to ceiling glass walls on both floors - so is flooded with warmth and natural light throughout the day. There is huge furnished wraparound south facing bedroom balcony on the first floor offering panoramic sea and mountain views - with sunbeds and drinks table. Poolside there is an extra large terrace and Mediterranean garden - perfect for al fresco dining and sunbathing. The large L shaped pool with Roman steps starts right outside your front door and ends at the back door.

One of the main features of this lovely property which brings regular guests back year after year, is its fantastic location. Too tired to do a Kalkan ‘big shop’ this morning after a day of travelling, I popped 2 minutes round the corner to the Borek shop (which is now selling Gulnahar’s legendary pre-sliced sourdough bread), to Migros Jet and the corner Manav (greengrocers). So today’s unapologetically hi-carb quick fix brunch is freshly made cheese borek, hindi fume slices (smoked turkey) on sourdough, a cheeky side of griddled halloumi, roast tomatoes and basil from the garden (done in the air fryer), followed by a healthy mandarin - and washed down with a glass of last night’s leftover rose wine - mindful not to ‘peak too early’ before tonight’s live music night at the Medusa Bar in Patara. 😋

Easyjet flights for Winter 25/26 were released unusually early yesterday. I will once again be making my cosy fully winterised Pearl Apartment available for rent during the winter months - including Christmas and New Year. Low price return fares Manchester-Dalaman for the Christmas week currently £140.

Magical view looking down on the islands from Islamlar tonight - at the Wednesday night ‘Movies in the Mountains’ soirée. The Village Cafe excelled themselves with the food - mixed mezze starter of cheese borek, celeriac coleslaw, smoked Aubergine, rocket with fresh lemons, and a chopped tomato salad, followed by fresh fillet of sea bass with hand cut chips and Turkish rice. A fabulous evening with lovely people, as always.

Another stunning January day - popped up to my friend’s villa at the top of the old town to feed her elderly street cat, then carried on along the service road where you’ll find one of my favourite ever views of Kalkan. Back home for frothy morning coffee on the upstairs terrace made with my new Nespresso machine, and a mandarin off the tree. ☀️

Another blissful January day! Two lots of washing done and dried, beds changed, floors mopped. dinner made, animals fed and plants watered. After a breakfast of perfectly poached organic eggs, buttery avocado and toasted Bazlama, now a little liquid refreshment, then possibly a sea swim this afternoon. ☀️
