We have some exciting updates to share regarding our trekking program and a brand-new highlight you won’t want to miss!

1. Protecting the Rare Kasnak Oak Forest 🛡️
We are thrilled to announce that the Kasnak Oak Forest (Quercus vulcanica) has been granted the highest level of environmental protection. This means the area is now a total sanctuary, and entry is strictly prohibited to preserve this unique ecosystem. While we will miss its shade, we fully applaud this vital step in Turkish conservation!

2. A New Legend: Sagalassos to Gölcük 🏛️✨
To replace the forest route, we’ve scouted an absolutely spectacular new trek that we think might just become the highlight of your week.

Starting from the majestic "City of Emperors," Sagalassos, you’ll follow an ancient Ottoman military road upward to a high mountain pass. From there, you’ll descend through scented black pine forests to the emerald waters of Gölcük—a stunning volcanic crater lake (caldera) tucked away near Isparta. 🌋💧

What to expect:
✅ Walk through 2,000 years of history at Sagalassos.
✅ Incredible ridge views from the Ottoman trail.
✅ A refreshing dip in the crystal-clear volcanic waters of Gölcük.
✅ New memories in one of Western Anatolia’s most unique geological sites.

🥾 Sunday Soles & Spectacular Views: Our Lycian Way Adventure!
What a day! ☀️ This Sunday, 18 of us set out with Amber Travel to tackle one of the most breathtaking stretches of the Lycian Way. From coastal climbs to forest trails, we saw it all.

📍 The Journey:
The Start: We began at Gavurağılı, right at the western edge of Patara beach. It didn’t take long for our heart rates to get up as we climbed the steep hillside—totally worth it for the views!

The Ascent: We pushed through the climb until we hit the cool shade of the pine forests and the lush, green terraces of Belceğiz.

The "Kate Clow" Special: We were lucky enough to trek the brand-new section marked by Kate Clow herself between Belceğiz and Bel. The panoramas from this trail are simply world-class. 📸

The Final Stretch: After a well-earned tea break in Bel village, we took the narrow path toward G*y. Let’s just say things got a little... exciting! The path is worryingly narrow in places, but our group handled it like pros.

There’s nothing quite like the Lycian Way to remind you why we love exploring this coastline. Great vibes, even better company, and memories to last a lifetime.

The Zemi Valley is a lush, approximately 6 km gorge that feels dramatically different from the red and rose valleys. Here, you trek alongside a winding stream, under a canopy of poplar trees, giving it a wonderfully shaded and tranquil atmosphere.

Fairy Chimney Contrast: Unlike the conical pillars of other valleys, Zemi's formations are often massive, sheer cliffs of soft tuff rock, carved with thousands of pigeon houses and ancient dwellings.

Hidden History: The path weaves past incredible rock-cut churches like El Nazar and Karabulut, dating back to the Byzantine era (10th-11th centuries). Finding these secluded sanctuaries on your own is a true adventure!

Natural Tunnels: Be ready to navigate through several thrilling natural arches and tunnels carved right through the cliff face by erosion—a highlight of the trail!
