SYRIAN REFUGEE SITUATION HERE IN BODRUM
This is my final week here in Turkey. It has been a complete whirlwind adventure, but I cannot pretend that there have not been issues going on right in front of me. Whilst the Syrian Refugee situation in Bodrum and on the coast here is not what the Daily Mail would have you believe, it is still causing pain to more people than we can possibly imagine.
On Thursday, we are going to give all left over food, clothes, children's games and other essentials that we have gained throughout the season to the homeless Syrians in Bodrum. There are 1.6 million Syrian refugees in Turkey, half of which are children, and the streets of Bodrum are lined with destitute people. Even if only a small gesture, we are hoping to help out in the only direct way we can think of. We will also be giving some money, so my reason for posting this on Facebook is to ask that if any of you would also like to help (but haven't so far found a way to do so) would you be willing to give some money to help those in need? If so, please personal message me for my bank details and I promise to give your donations on to those who need it. I will provide a receipt (I promise I am trustworthy!). Anything you can do to help will be so much appreciated. It's time to stop ignoring the biggest humanitarian crisis of our generation, and step up together to do something about it.
Lots of love,
Amy and Adam on Croque Too.
