This Saturday 13th June, join the HU family as we head to Avocat Waterfall and Three Pools in Blanchisseuse 🙏

The difficulty level is 6/10 for this one as the first hour consists mainly of uphill terrain before descending toward the waterfall and river sections.

🦺 Life vests will be provided for all participants.

On Saturday 13th June the Hikers United Family will be heading to Avocat Waterfalls and Three Pools. We have not done this hike in a while and are looking forward to it 🥰🙏

✨ Fun Facts: 💦 Avocat Falls is one of Trinidad's most impressive waterfalls, standing about 50–60 feet tall. 🌊 3 Pools is a series of natural river pools connected by small cascades. 🌿 Both are located in the lush rainforest of Blanchisseuse, one of the greenest regions in Trinidad. 🥾 The journey includes river crossings, swimming spots, and stunning rainforest scenery from start to finish! 💚✨

⏱ Estimated Hiking Time:
Approximately 4.5 – 5 hours including rest stops and bathing time at Avocat Falls and 3 Pools.

⚠ Difficulty Level:
6/10 – Moderately Challenging
(The first hour consists mainly of uphill terrain before descending toward the waterfall and river sections.)

🦺 Life vests will be provided for all participants.

📍Meeting Point:
Uncle Sam’s Bar carpark, Maracas Bay
[We will then drive in our own vehicles to Marianne’s Bar carpark in Blanchisseuse, which is the secure parking location and the start point for the hike.]

🕞Meeting Time: 7:00 AM
[We will wait a maximum of 30 minutes before departure, so please be on time.]

💲Cost of Hike: $`100TTD

🔐Parking: `$30TTD per vehicle

🚌Transport Available: $80TTD

🌿🦝 Did You Know? The Manicou is a Helpful Native Animal! 🇹🇹

The manicou, also known as the opossum, is one of the fascinating animals found in Trinidad and Tobago. Although some people may fear or misunderstand them, manicous actually play an important role in nature.

✨ Interesting Facts About the Manicou:
• They are excellent climbers and can use their tails for balance.
• Manicous help control pests by eating insects, snails, and small rodents.
• They are mostly nocturnal, meaning they are active at night.
• Baby manicous ride safely on their mother’s back after leaving her pouch!
• When frightened, they may “play dead” to protect themselves from predators.

🌱 These unique creatures are part of our local wildlife and remind us of the importance of protecting nature and biodiversity.
