🥾🌿 MERMAID POOLS ADVENTURE! 🧜🏽‍♀️💦

Join the Hikers United Team on Saturday 12th September 2026 as we return to the beautiful and captivating Mermaid Pools in the sleepy village of Matura! 🌴🌊

This scenic hiking spot has lured hikers and river-goers for years, offering a short downhill trek through the lush pine tree forest 🌲🌲 to the beautiful bathing pools.

💚 The cool, emerald-green waters are awesomely refreshing, and the entire bathing spot is truly impressive to behold! 💦✨

🥾 THE HIKE
⏱️ Approximately 40 minutes to the pools
🔙 Return trip: approximately 50 minutes
📈 Light to moderate inclines, with a few short steep sections along both the hike to the pools and the return journey.

🦺 Life vests are available for everyone who needs one, including children! 👧🏽👦🏽

💰 Cost of Hike: $100 TTD
🚗 Secure Parking: $30 TTD per vehicle
🚌 Transport Available: $80 per person

📍 MEETING POINT

🏰 Royal Castle, Valencia

The entire group will meet at Royal Castle, Valencia, before driving together to the start of the Mermaid Pool Trail in Matura Village. 🚗🌿

🕖 MEETING TIME

⏰ 7:00 AM

⚠️ We will wait at the meeting point for a maximum of 30 minutes before departing. Please be on time so we can leave together! 🙏🏽

Saturday 1st August, 2026- Paria Bay & Waterfall (by Boat)

Join the Hikers United team on Saturday 1st March as we journey the remote, unspoiled gem of Paria Bay. But instead of hiking, we'll be taking the relaxing easy way by boat!

Be sure to bring your swimwear if you intend to bathe and pack a change of clothes for after the trip. Life vests will be provided for all patrons. Please pack sunblock and/or an umbrella as well as the UV index tends to be high. A beach spread will also be useful for relaxing on the sand.

As a sidenote, delicious and refreshing coconut water is sometimes on sale ($10) by a gentleman who lives on the beach. Bring extra cash if you would like to partake.

Important information:

📅Date: Saturday 1st August, 2026

📍Meeting Point: Uncle Sam's, Maracas Bay [We will then be driving to the parking location at Marianne's Bar Carpark, Blanchisseuse]

🕣Meeting Time: 7:00AM

🚍Transport : $80.00 additional

💲Cost: $250TT (includes refreshments and boatride)

🔐Secure parking fee: $30TT

🌿Difficulty Level: 1/10 (Easy) [Includes 20 minute walk to Paria Waterfall]
