🎙️ La Secretaria General de la Asociación de Estados del Caribe (AEC), S.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid, fue entrevistada el viernes por VTV Canal 8 en Venezuela, en el marco de la reunión de la Subcomisión del Sargazo.

La entrevista fue una oportunidad para abordar los principales temas tratados durante este encuentro, entre ellos la promoción del uso de recursos científicos y tecnológicos para apoyar proyectos concretos, así como los esfuerzos regionales destinados a encontrar soluciones concretas y sostenibles al problema del sargazo.

La Secretaria General también destacó la importancia de esta primera reunión presencial de la Subcomisión y agradeció a la República Bolivariana de Venezuela por su acogida y su compromiso con esta iniciativa regional. 🌊🌿

The Association of Caribbean States deeply values the contribution and commitment of its Founding Members, whose leadership has been instrumental in advancing regional cooperation, dialogue and solidarity across the Greater Caribbean.

Urbanization is fundamentally a human rights issue.

The way we plan our cities shapes access to housing, water, mobility, public services and safe spaces — and ultimately, the conditions for a life of dignity.

For the Greater Caribbean, where climate and disaster risks often intersect with existing inequalities, planning must do more than respond to growth. It must anticipate risk, reduce inequalities and protect people.

Technology, data and AI can help us make better decisions, but they are tools — not the goal. The goal is cities that are safer, more inclusive, more resilient and designed around people.

Through cooperation, shared knowledge and solutions adapted to our realities, the Greater Caribbean can build urban futures that translate planning into well-being, dignity and security for all.
