🎉 MEET OUR FINALIST! 🎉
We are excited to announce that Ms. Shantel Hercules, Owner of Country Curry House, is a BDU Female Entrepreneur of the Month Finalist! 🌟
💡 Why We Started:
Inspired by childhood experiences of cooking out of necessity, a passion for food developed over time. This passion, coupled with encouragement from loved ones, led to the creation of Country Curry House, bringing authentic roti dishes to the local community.
🥘 What Makes Us Unique:
1. Authentic Flavors: Our dishes carry the warmth and authenticity of home-cooked meals.
2. Cultural Uniqueness: While most businesses in the area focus on Creole dishes, we offer authentic Indian meals, including buss up shot roti, which is less commonly found.
3. Passion-Driven: Our journey began from a genuine love for cooking, not just as a business venture, and that passion shines through in the quality of our food.

🚀 Challenges & Growth:
When COVID-19 hit, it was a devastating blow to businesses everywhere, and mine was no exception. Government mandates led to the closure of all food-related businesses, including mine. It felt like everything I had worked for was slipping away. The hardest part wasn’t just the financial loss; it was the mental toll of feeling helpless and uncertain.
But I kept reminding myself of why I started this business in the first place—my passion for cooking and sharing delicious food. With resilience and creativity, I began offering takeout and delivery options as restrictions lifted. Each small victory, like a loyal customer returning, kept me motivated. Today, my business stands stronger, built on perseverance and a love for what I do.

💪 Advice for Aspiring Female Entrepreneurs:
1. Believe in Yourself: Trust your skills and pursue your passion.
2. Be Willing to Learn: Embrace growth and seek mentorship when needed.
3. Stay Resilient: Overcome challenges by staying adaptable and determined.
4. Start Small: Focus on growth over time and take pride in every achievement.
5. Enjoy the Journey: Love what you do and celebrate your progress.
