廣興正在製作3300上色楮皮粗紋紙。
紙張的配方由50%楮皮纖維與50%雁皮纖維（Gampi） 組成，結合了楮皮紙的強韌度，以及雁皮紙細緻、平滑的質地。紙漿以天然礦物染色，使紙面呈現出柔和、溫潤的米色調。
紙面上可見的羅紋紋理，是在 抄紙成形的過程中自然形成的。當紙匠將竹簾從紙槽中抬起時，纖維會停留在竹簾上，逐漸形成一張紙。由於竹簾是由細竹籤編織而成，纖維在不同位置的堆積方式也會不同：在竹籤之間的空隙處，纖維會堆積得較多，形成紙面上較厚的線條；而在竹籤本身的位置，纖維相對較少，因此形成較薄的部分。這樣的纖維分布差異，就形成了紙張上細緻的羅紋紋理。
透過不同的竹簾編織方式，以及竹籤粗細與間距的變化，紙面的紋理也會呈現出不同的效果。在廣興紙寮，目前共有七種不同的羅紋樣式，包括傳統竹簾紋、細羅紋、直羅紋，以及完全沒有紋理的 如意紙 等。
這些細緻而溫柔的紋理，讓藝術家在創作時能夠利用紙張本身的肌理，為作品帶來更多層次與趣味。
No. 3300 Mineral-Colored Kozo Paper with Thick Ribbing, in the making.
This week in the mill, we are producing No. 3300 mineral-colored Kozo paper with thick ribbings. The paper is composed of 50% Kozo fiber and 50% Gampi fiber, combining the strength and durability of Kozo with the smooth, refined texture characteristic of Gampi. The pulp is naturally colored with minerals, giving the sheet a gentle beige tone. The paper is traditionally used for Asian ink painting.
The distinctive ribbed texture is deliberately created during the sheet formation stage. As the papermaker lifts the bamboo screen from the pulp vat, fibers settle and remain on the surface of the screen, gradually forming a sheet of paper. Because the bamboo screen is constructed from thin sticks bound together with knots, fibers accumulate differently across its surface. More fibers gather in the hollow spaces between the bamboo sticks, creating thicker lines on the sheet, while fewer fibers settle directly on the bamboo sticks themselves, resulting in thinner areas. This difference in fiber distribution produces the characteristic ribbed pattern visible on the finished paper.
The texture can be further controlled through different weaving methods and variations in the thickness and spacing of the sticks used in the screen. In our mill, we produce seven different ribbing styles, including the traditional bamboo screen pattern, fine ribbings, straight ribbings, and Ruyi paper, which has an entirely plain surface.
These subtle ribbed lines add a gentle visual rhythm to the sheet, allowing artists to incorporate the paper’s natural texture into their work and create richer and more expressive visual effects.
