📍Five-Peak Flag Waterfall ｜Yilan

Here has long been a popular destination for those who want to escape the heat and humidity in the summer. The trail that leads to the waterfall will only take you one to two hours to finish and is ideal for all.

The very well-established trail is made of stone steps, so there is no need to worry that your shoes might get messy and muddy during the hike. Your hard work climbing those steps will pay off when you finally hit the end of the trail — the stunning waterfall with an elevation difference of 42 meters between the highest and lowest points will take your breath away! It is highly recommended to complete the hike as it is truly rewarding.

📍Iron Fort｜Matsu (offshore islands)

Iron Fort is located on the southern coast of Nangan on an independent sea rock near Jinsha Village🪖. Because of the location’s difficult terrain and important strategic position, it was developed into a military base, with the middle of the sea rock excavated out to form a tunnel.

Nowadays, Iron Fort is a wonderful place for experiencing wartime culture and the view of the ocean with the sea breeze in your face. It is also a wonderful place for appreciating Blue Tears (藍眼淚, a type of florescent algae) on a summer evening!

📍Former British Consulate at Takao｜Kaoshiung

Established in 1879, the Former British Consulate at Takow is the oldest remaining Western mansion in Taiwan. It was also the very first consulate in Taiwan. Perched on top of a hill, this charming building affords an excellent panorama of its surroundings, where the ocean and mountains can be easily viewed.

Today, the Former British Consulate at Takow has been named a national historic site, where a wide range of local historical objects are on display. Visitors can even have a cup of English tea while enjoying the southern chill. Many come for the romantic sunset over the well-known Xizi Bay (西子灣), where the golden hued rays will melt into the horizon with the ocean bathed in the glow of the setting sun.🌅
