Burning incense while worshiping is a longstanding practice in almost every temple in Taiwan. It is believed that the lighted incense brings people's prayers directly to the deities above.🪷

Joss sticks are made from powdered sandalwood and Chinese herbs. To most of the tourists, fishing port is not always on the top of the scheduled list. But to locals or ones knowing how to get to the bottom of local culture, a port is just their taste⚓ ​

Watching fishing boats in and out⛴getting close to seaside🌊enjoying the scenery of sunset being buried behind skyline🌅most of all, tasting fresh seafood. We could find all above-mentioned characteristics in Dragon Phoenix Harbor at Zhunan ​ , Miaoli. ​

Except purchasing fresh seafood, people could sit down and enjoy oyster omelet, squid in grill or deep-fried, stinky tofu, etc. Street musicians gather next to the fishing port to present their performances. Visitors could see the windmills and play with water when being on the beach. This place could undoubtedly satisfy every members of your family!

Flowing through the east coast of Taiwan, the Kuroshio is the world's second largest warm current after the Gulf stream in the Atlantic Ocean and brings shoals of migratory fish to the waters near Hualien. 🐬Dolphins and whales feed on these fish and therefore keep coming back to the open water of Hualien City every year. 🐳The peak season for dolphin watching occurs between May and October as the sea is usually calm with low waves during the period. If you are lucky, you may also see whale! This is a chance for you to get close to nature, as you've never seen it before.

Taipingshan sits in mountain area with average altitude of 2,000 meters in Yilan and is away from city in around 2 hours driving distance.  

Throughout the whole year, countless visitors are attracted to here for different landscapes:
☀️in summer and autumn, the view is contrasting with varying water level; ❄️during winter, sometimes thin-coating snow would cover the lake, which is quite rare scene in Taiwan.

Moreover, many trails are available for hiking in the area, ranging from an hour to a half day in length⛰️Some of them are ideal for bird watching or admiring the scene of dawn. In fine nights, the place also suits for star-gazing. The forest consists of many trees, though some are withered, but their pale boles and leafless branches do enrich the atmosphere!🌳

During the orange season from August to September each year, you can see a whole sea of orange daylilys at Liushidanshan🧡When driving up to the mountain in Hualien, be mindful of the narrow and winding roads, and consider whether your vehicle is suitable for the journey.

The mountain is very comfortable, with lush greenery dotted with specks of orange🌾The surrounding restaurants also serve many specialty orange daylily dishes, such as cold orange daylily salad, orange daylily sausages, and orange daylily popsicles, all worth experiencing for their unique flavors and textures.
