Topology - Travel in Real Taiwan

Topology - Travel in Real Taiwan 如同深夜食堂,走進店裡的每一位客人都有自己的生活故事,老闆在與食客交流後,為他們端出美味且療癒的無菜單料理。我們期許自己能像這家小店一樣,用心傾聽旅客們對於旅行的期待。

Topology Travel was founded by travel lovers who are young at heart, and share a common vision: authentic experience by exploring Taiwan through the eyes of locals. While we have all grown up in Taiwan and understand the culture as native Taiwanese, our passion, our goal, is presenting a first hand experience of authentic Taiwan to every single person who we meet. We aim to create unique travel experiences for people based on their style, their interests, and their preferred pace of travel. We firmly believe that by helping people to experience the real side of a faraway destination, we are helping to bridge cultural gaps, and shorten the geographical distance between us.

🫂Every journey has a story, and one of the greatest joys of our work is getting to know the people behind each itinerary.

💐 Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Anika and Conrad, a newly married Australian couple visiting Taiwan to celebrate this special chapter in their lives.

Since they arrived early in the morning before hotel check-in, we suggested they experience their first day like the locals—with a traditional Taiwanese breakfast before exploring the city. Later, we met in person to hand over their train tickets and officially welcome them to Taiwan!

To celebrate their marriage, we prepared a small gift: a pair of traditional Taiwanese coasters featuring the 囍 ("Double Happiness") character, a symbol of happiness and good fortune for newlyweds. We hoped it would become a meaningful keepsake from their journey.

Lunch was, of course, all about food! We took them to one of our favourite local restaurants for shengjianbao (pan-fried soup buns). Like many first-time visitors, they quickly discovered that eating freshly made soup buns without burning your tongue is much harder than it looks. Between the hot soup and plenty of laughter, it became one of those simple moments that made the day unforgettable.

Throughout their trip, we shared recommendations for places to explore during their free time, while our wonderful driver-guide, Reggie, looked after the rest of their journey around Taiwan.

Their first night in Taiwan also turned out to be unforgettable for another reason—a significant earthquake struck. Knowing it could be a frightening experience for first-time visitors, we immediately checked in to make sure they were safe. Thankfully, they were doing well, and they told us they truly appreciated the message.

🫶After returning home, Anika shared that they had fallen in love with Taiwan—not only because of its beautiful scenery and delicious food, but also because of the warmth and kindness of the Taiwanese people. Hearing that they had already started recommending both Taiwan and Topology Travel to their friends was the greatest compliment we could receive.

For us, travel is never just about hotels, transportation, or sightseeing. It's about creating meaningful experiences, sharing local culture, and making every traveler feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.

Thank you, Anika and Conrad, for letting us be part of your Taiwan story. We hope to welcome you back again someday. 🇹🇼❤️

The Heart of Every Journey Is People. 💙

This month, our team had the pleasure of welcoming Taiwanese travel writer 藍白拖 (Blue White Slippers) (Liu Zhe-yu)
for an inspiring sharing session.

Over the course of two years, BWS experienced more than 100 different jobs, documenting his journey in The 100 Jobs Project. Through every workplace and every conversation, he discovered one simple but powerful truth:

Every job is ultimately about people. 🫂

That message resonated deeply with our team.

As a company dedicated to creating customized travel experiences, we believe that every itinerary begins with understanding people—not just places.

Every journey brings together travelers, guides, drivers, local communities, and countless meaningful encounters along the way. Truly memorable travel comes from listening carefully, observing thoughtfully, and understanding what matters most to each traveler.

One quote from the session especially stayed with us:

"A good job may bring you success, but a good attitude toward work can bring you fulfillment."

Success can be measured in many ways—revenue, growth, or market position. But we believe the value of our work is ultimately reflected in the experiences we create and the relationships we build.

Thank you, BWS, for reminding us that no matter what industry we work in, the heart of our work is never just the work itself.

It's people!

Topology Travel in Australia | Connecting with Travel Partners and Sharing Taiwan’s Endless Possibilities

In mid-June, Core Liu and Shirley Fang from Topology Travel joined the Taiwan Tourism Administration on a visit to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, participating in three B2B roadshows across Australia.

The trip was a valuable opportunity to connect with local travel professionals, gain deeper insights into the Australian market, and explore future opportunities for collaboration.

🤝 Building Connections Across Australia
Throughout the roadshows, we had the pleasure of connecting with travel agents, tour operators, and industry partners across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
We were excited to share Topology Travel's approach to inbound tourism in Taiwan through:
✨ Customized itineraries
🌿 Immersive cultural experiences
🏞️ Nature exploration
♻️ Sustainable travel

💚 What We Believe
At Topology Travel, we believe travel is about more than visiting places.
It's about:
🤝 Connecting with people
📖 Discovering local stories
🌏 Creating meaningful experiences for both travellers and local communities
By listening carefully to our guests’ needs and working closely with our local partners, we aim to design journeys that are authentic, thoughtful, and truly memorable.

We also noticed that Taiwan is becoming an increasingly popular stopover destination, with many travellers discovering Taiwan during transit and returning for a longer journey.

📈 Market Insights
One of our biggest takeaways was the growing interest from Australian travellers in:
🍵 Tea culture
🏛️ Local & Indigenous experiences
🍜 Taiwanese cuisine
♻️ Sustainable tourism
🚂 Scenic railway journeys
🌿 Authentic community experiences

Train travel is also a theme that received a lot of interest, as many travellers appreciate the opportunity to explore Taiwan at a slower pace while experiencing the landscapes and local stories along the way.

We have also noticed that more Australian travellers are choosing Taiwan as a stopover destination. Many of them discover Taiwan during their transit and eventually fall in love with the country, making Taiwan their next Asian destination to explore.

We were delighted to see the efforts from China Airlines and EVA Air, who also participated in the events, in promoting Taiwan and helping more travellers discover what Taiwan has to offer.

A big thank you to all the travel professionals who took the time to meet and exchange ideas with us, and to the Taiwan tourism organizations for creating this valuable platform that allows Taiwanese travel companies to connect with international markets.

It was also a pleasure connecting with:
Planetdwellers Travel-Tours-Events, Connected Travel Australia, Delwood Tours, WendyWuTours, Exotic Tours, INSIDEASIA, Academy Travel, and Tomato Travel

We truly appreciate your time and look forward to future collaborations.

Looking forward to welcoming everyone to Taiwan soon!

💛 A Journey Many Have Been Waiting For 💛

Over the past few years, we’ve received so many messages from travelers asking the same question:
“Do you offer small-group tours?”

Many of you told us that while you value high-quality travel experiences, you also hope to meet new people along the way—to share stories, laughter, and memorable moments. August may be hot, but it’s also one of the most exciting months to explore Taiwan—with vibrant seasonal events, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable cultural experiences. Here are 3 must-do activities you won’t want to miss this August:

🍊 1. Wander through golden daylily fields
Head to Sixty Stone Mountain or Chike Mountain in Hualien, or Taimali in Taitung to see hills covered in blooming golden daylilies. Visit in the morning for cooler weather and the best photo lighting!

🍽️ 2. Visit the Taiwan Culinary Exhibition (Aug 1–4, 2025)
Taking place at Taipei World Trade Center, this food lover’s paradise features Taiwanese street eats, regional specialties, cooking demos, wine tastings, and local product showcases. Come hungry—you’ll leave full and inspired!

🎈 3. Experience the Taitung Hot Air Balloon Festival
One of Taiwan’s most iconic summer events! Held at Luye Highland, this year’s festival includes a magical Doraemon-themed balloon and daily sunrise/sunset launches. Plus, enjoy night glow concerts, tethered rides, and the breathtaking view of balloons floating over Taitung’s valleys. ✨

🇮🇳 Planning a family trip from India to Taiwan? You're not alone!

This April, we had the pleasure of hosting a lovely Indian family who created unforgettable memories in Taiwan 💛

To help more families from India feel confident and excited about their journey, we’ve put together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive:

✨ Top Questions Indian Families Ask Before Visiting Taiwan ✨

1️⃣ Are Indian restaurants easy to find in Taiwan?
Yes, in major cities like Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, there are many Indian restaurants, including those offering vegetarian and vegan options. However, in smaller towns or scenic areas like Yehliu, Jiufen, Shifen, Sun Moon Lake, and Alishan, Indian cuisine is not as available. In those places, we recommend local vegetarian restaurants or picking up vegetarian meals at convenience stores.

2️⃣ Is vegetarian food available in Taiwan?
Absolutely! Taiwan has a large vegetarian population, and we can help arrange meals that fit dietary needs—whether you're vegan, lacto-ovo vegetarian, or avoid beef. Hotels and B&Bs can also provide vegetarian breakfasts with advance notice.

3️⃣ What kid-friendly activities are there?
Taiwan is perfect for family travel! We recommend fun and safe activities like tea-making workshops, paper DIY, traditional indigo dyeing, pineapple cake and bubble tea DIY, riding the Maokong Gondola, cycling around Sun Moon Lake, and relaxing in hot springs.

4️⃣ Where can we go shopping?
Many Indian travelers enjoy shopping for electronics—Syntrend and Guanghua Digital Plaza in Taipei are great spots. For souvenirs and fun finds, visit Ximending, Zhongshan area, Dihua Street, Taipei 101 Mall, and local night markets.

5️⃣ What’s the best way to get around?
We offer private transportation services with vehicles tailored to your group size. Taiwan’s high-speed rail and metro systems are convenient, but for families with young children or seniors, private transfers offer the most comfort and ease.

6️⃣ What’s the best time to visit Taiwan?
Spring (March–May) and autumn (October–December) are ideal for pleasant weather. Summer (June–August) is warmer but great for outdoor fun. Winter (January–February) is cooler and perfect for hot spring visits.

7️⃣ What language do the guides speak?
We can provide English-speaking guides throughout the trip.

💬 Have more questions? Leave a comment or message us directly—we're happy to help you plan a safe, smooth, and memorable trip to Taiwan for the whole family!
