🫂Every journey has a story, and one of the greatest joys of our work is getting to know the people behind each itinerary.
💐 Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Anika and Conrad, a newly married Australian couple visiting Taiwan to celebrate this special chapter in their lives.
Since they arrived early in the morning before hotel check-in, we suggested they experience their first day like the locals—with a traditional Taiwanese breakfast before exploring the city. Later, we met in person to hand over their train tickets and officially welcome them to Taiwan!
To celebrate their marriage, we prepared a small gift: a pair of traditional Taiwanese coasters featuring the 囍 ("Double Happiness") character, a symbol of happiness and good fortune for newlyweds. We hoped it would become a meaningful keepsake from their journey.
Lunch was, of course, all about food! We took them to one of our favourite local restaurants for shengjianbao (pan-fried soup buns). Like many first-time visitors, they quickly discovered that eating freshly made soup buns without burning your tongue is much harder than it looks. Between the hot soup and plenty of laughter, it became one of those simple moments that made the day unforgettable.
Throughout their trip, we shared recommendations for places to explore during their free time, while our wonderful driver-guide, Reggie, looked after the rest of their journey around Taiwan.
Their first night in Taiwan also turned out to be unforgettable for another reason—a significant earthquake struck. Knowing it could be a frightening experience for first-time visitors, we immediately checked in to make sure they were safe. Thankfully, they were doing well, and they told us they truly appreciated the message.
🫶After returning home, Anika shared that they had fallen in love with Taiwan—not only because of its beautiful scenery and delicious food, but also because of the warmth and kindness of the Taiwanese people. Hearing that they had already started recommending both Taiwan and Topology Travel to their friends was the greatest compliment we could receive.
For us, travel is never just about hotels, transportation, or sightseeing. It's about creating meaningful experiences, sharing local culture, and making every traveler feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.
Thank you, Anika and Conrad, for letting us be part of your Taiwan story. We hope to welcome you back again someday. 🇹🇼❤️
