We are used to seeing Leopards on top of acacia trees, but at Tarangire national park we get to see lions climb up trees as well. Here are some few reasons,
Lions climb up trees to observe the movement of their prey as they move across the plains in search of grass,

Birds of tarangire

Lake Natron is found in the northern part of Tanzania. The nearest towns to Lake Natron are Arusha in Tanzania and Magadi in Kenya.

It is the most important breeding site for Lesser Flamingos in the world. East Africa has 1.5-2.5 million Lesser Flamingos, representing three-quarters of the world population and most of them are hatched at Lake Natron.

Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of the favourite game viewing areas in Africa. Covering 50,000 square kilometres is amongst the largest protected areas in Africa and is relatively undisturbed by human impact.

Africa’s largest and oldest game reserve is one of its most scenic wildlife destinations; the Selous is utterly beautiful. The beauty of the park is matched by the quality of a safari here; boating, walking and fly camping complement standard game driving in thriving wildlife areas.

Mountain Kilimanjaro is accessible throughout the year; however, the two main climbing seasons are January to March and June to October. January to mid-March is the best time because the weather is warm and the sky is clear. January and February are the warmest months in Kilimanjaro.

June to October is also a popular climbing season because it coincides with the summer travel season in Europe and America. August, September, and October are the driest months on Mount Kilimanjaro.

April, May, and November are the wettest months on Kilimanjaro; they are not the best time to go climbing.

Tanzania offers many hiking options for avid travelers. The most popular options are Mt.Kilimanjaro and Mt.Meru-two of the highest peaks in Africa. Apart from Meru and Kilimanjaro, there are other destinations such as the Usambara mountains, Uluguru Mountains, Mount Oldonyo Lengai, and the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. Every mountain is unique; you should seek enough information before deciding which one to climb.

Mount Meru is Africa’s fifth highest peak and has fabulous views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Momela Lakes from the summit. Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak and the highest free-standing mountain in the world (i.e Kilimanjaro is the highest mount that is not part of a mountain range in the world).

Mount Oldonyo Lengai is another popular ascent after that of Kilimanjaro and Meru. The ascent to the crater of Ol Donyo Lengai passes through beautiful sceneries with panoramic views of the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley.
