Volunteering abroad is more than just a service, it's a genuine cultural exchange. This is why we offer "family visit experience" for our volunteers, giving them a chance to connect more deeply with the local community.
During your family visit, you'll be warmly welcomed into a local Tanzanian home where you will share a traditional meal prepared with local ingredients, learn about daily life, customs and traditions, practice Swahili language and engage in a meaningful conversations, experience music, dance or storytelling depending on the family.
The visit provides a safe, respectful and enriching way to understand the heart of Tanzanian culture beyond the volunteer site. For many volunteers, it's one of the most powerful and personal highlights of their time in Tanzania.
