TEMBO Expedition Safaris: Your Gateway to the Soul of East Africa

‎At TEMBO Expedition Safaris, we don’t just take you on a tour; we invite you into a story. Named after the majestic African Elephant—the symbol of wisdom, family, and a deep memory of the land—we pride ourselves on being the steady guides who lead you through the untamed wonders of Tanzania and Kenya.

‎Why Journey With Us?
‎Heritage & Expertise: Founded by local experts with decades of experience, we possess an "elephant’s memory" of the bush. We know the secret watering holes, the hidden migration corridors, and the perfect sunrise spots that large tour operators overlook.

‎The "Private Sanctuary" Experience: We specialize in tailor-made expeditions. Whether you are looking for a luxury lodge under the Serengeti stars, a rugged Kilimanjaro trek, or a private sunset over the Ngorongoro Crater, your itinerary is a unique masterpiece designed around your rhythm.
‎Conservation with Heart: To us, "Tembo" is more than a name; it’s a commitment. We practice responsible tourism that supports local Maasai and Hadzabe communities and contributes directly to the protection of the wildlife you come to see.

‎The Best Storytellers in the Bush: Our guides are more than drivers—they are trackers, historians, and cultural ambassadors. They speak the language of the birds and the stories of the tribes, ensuring every game drive is an education for the soul.

‎"They say the elephant never forgets, and after a journey with TEMBO Expedition Safaris, neither will you. We don't just show you Africa; we help you feel its heartbeat."

Welcome to Tanzania where the roof of Africa touches the sky,
And the snow-capped Kibo watches time fly,
The giant Kilimanjaro, silent and steep,
Guards the land where the ancestors sleep.
Down in the plains where the tall grasses sway,
The endless Serengeti stretches away.
A thunder of hooves on the dusty red ground,
Where the Great Migration’s rhythm is found.
The lion awakes with a golden-maned roar,
While eagles above the baobabs soar.
In Ngorongoro’s bowl, a garden so green,
The wildest of Edens that ever was seen.
From the shimmering heat to the cool ocean breeze,
To the Spice Island floating on turquoise seas.
Zanzibar whispers of cloves and of old,
With stories of sultans and traders of gold.
White dhows set sail on the Indian blue,
Under skies of a deep, unshakeable hue.
The narrow stone streets where the history hums,
To the beat of the waves and the pulse of the drums.
But greater than mountains or herds on the run,
Is the warmth of the people beneath the same sun.
With a "Karibu" smile and a hand to extend,
Where a stranger is quickly welcomed as friend.
Oh, land of the Savanna, the Lake, and the Sea,
Wild and majestic, untamed and free.
A jewel that sparkles, a story begun,
Forever resplendent, under the Tanzanian sun.

Nature’s masterpiece unfolds as the calving season meets the ever-moving Shifting Sands in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A rare spectacle where new life begins beside a wandering dune, shaped by the whispers of the wind.

Happy African Wild Dog Day

*Silent Strategists of the Savannah:*

African Wild Dogs are not only remarkable hunters with an 80% success *rate, but also embody teamwork, with packs sharing food and caring* for the young.

With fewer left in the wild, *_their incredible stamina and social bonds are crucial for survival in their endangered existence._*

However the biggest factor for *their low numbers are loss of habitat* and human-wildlife conflicts.
🙏
Most endangered carnivore, *_the African wild dog._*

Wild dog packs need large habitats to survive. Dr Wendy Panaino , Tswalu's assistant ecologist, explains some of the challenges:

“Wild dogs are capable of escaping fenced reserves and travelling long distances. To monitor their movements,
