The Marabou Stork (locally called Mwarabu in Swahili) is a massive African bird often nicknamed the “Undertaker” because of its black, cloak-like wings and hunched appearance.

Size: They are giants, standing up to 5 feet tall with wingspans over 10 feet.
Role: Known as part of the “Ugly Five,” they are nature’s cleanup crew (scavengers) that help keep ecosystems disease-free.
