Some guests arrive as clients and leave feeling like family. ❤️
After months of emails, questions, itinerary changes, laughter and anticipation, we finally had the pleasure of welcoming Rose from Canada to Tanzania — and what a journey it became.
Rose came with one simple wish: to experience Tanzania slowly, meaningfully, and with plenty of time to simply sit and appreciate the wildlife. And Tanzania certainly showed off for her. 🐘🦁🐆🦏
There were unforgettable elephant encounters in Tarangire, more lions than we could count, cheetahs across the Serengeti plains, a beautiful leopard resting in a tree, rhinos in Ngorongoro, and so many of those smaller moments that often become the ones we remember most.
We were especially happy to spend a little time together during her journey and finally put a real-life hug to all those months of messages. 😊
After the dust, early mornings and long safari days came the perfect ending: a few peaceful days beside the Indian Ocean in Zanzibar. 🌴🌊

We appreciate the experiences we wanted, but also the unwanted experiences we did not have.” ❤️
Those words from our recent honeymoon travellers, Ashry Prashad & Mike, stayed with us. Planning their first safari initially felt overwhelming. But from our first conversations, our goal was simple: listen carefully, understand what mattered to them, work within their budget, and design a journey that felt entirely their own. Their adventure began on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, where Bryceson guided them to Mandara Hut at a pace that made them feel comfortable, supported and, in Ashry’s words, incredibly accomplished. Then came the Serengeti.
On their very first safari day with Terry, they witnessed something none of us can ever promise — a Mara River crossing. From there, they told us, somehow “every day was another amazing day.”
But what touched us most about their feedback wasn’t only the wildlife they saw.
It was what they noticed about their guide.
They noticed that Terry could “read the room” — knowing when they wanted to stay longer and when they were ready to move on. He never rushed them. He was always early. He remained engaged while they watched wildlife rather than simply reaching for his phone. When a tyre went flat, he handled it quickly and calmly. And during a foggy early-morning drive from Ngorongoro, when visibility was extremely poor, they told us they felt completely safe with him.
They noticed how he respected the wildlife and other safari vehicles — no reckless “Ferrari driving,” no blocking animals or another traveller’s view just to get the best position. A great safari isn’t only about finding lions, elephants or being fortunate enough to witness a river crossing. It’s about how you feel during all those hours in between.
Safe. Unhurried. Looked after. Listened to.

Almost a year ago, four travelers from the U.S. placed their trust in our small family-run company to plan their very first journey to Africa.

There were months of conversations, questions, itinerary changes, accommodation requests and countless little details along the way.

Then, finally, they arrived in Tanzania.

Over seven unforgettable days, they explored Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, watched a cheetah hunt, encountered incredible predators and witnessed not one, but two Mara River crossings in a single day.

But when we read their review after returning home, what touched us most wasn’t what they wrote about the wildlife.

It was this:

For a small, locally owned family safari company, there are few compliments that could mean more.

Some safari moments simply leave you speechless.

Our guests captured this incredible scene during their safari with us in the Northern Serengeti — thousands of wildebeest gathering at the river before taking the plunge as part of the Great Migration.

And as if witnessing one crossing wasn’t special enough… they were fortunate to experience TWO wildebeest crossings in a single day!

There are some things on safari that no itinerary can schedule and no one can guarantee. You simply have to be in the right place, at the right time — and when nature decides to put on a show like this, you never forget it.

This is the magic of the Serengeti.
This is the Great Migration. 🇹🇿

This is the most unforgettable thing our guests said to us after leaving Tanzania.❤️

It was their first time in Africa, and they got to see elephant herds crossing baobab trees in Tarangire;
met a mama rhino and her baby in Ngorongoro;
and watched a cheetah mom hunt for her cubs right in front of them in the Serengeti.
Every day on the savanna felt like a scene straight out of a documentary.
But what really stuck with them wasn’t just the animals,
it was those quiet yet mind-blowing moments:

I’ve always felt that the most special thing about safari
isn’t how many animals you see.

It’s how it teaches people to slow down.

In Serengeti, you gradually get used to:
driving slowly,
waiting slowly,
watching sunsets slowly.

Sometimes you may sit quietly in the savannah for a long time just waiting for lions to appear.

But because of this,
many guests later say:

“It was the first time in a very long while that they truly relaxed.”

No rushing like in the city.
No constantly checking phones.
Just wind, wildlife, grasslands, and endless skies.

I think that’s why so many people never forget Africa after experiencing safari.

(Full review below 👇) Tales of Tanzania is, without a doubt, the best tour company I’ve ever worked with. I had the pleasure of working with Pendo, who created a truly perfect, customized itinerary. I shared what I was looking for, and she delivered beyond expectations.

She was always available to answer any question— even those unrelated to the tour— and remained patient, responsive, and genuinely passionate about making sure I had the best possible experience. Everything was seamless from start to finish.

Traveling to Tanzania from the U.S. can be expensive, but Pendo was incredibly helpful in finding ways for me to save money. She could have easily taken advantage of the situation, but instead showed integrity and care, never prioritizing profit over the experience.

I also want to highlight our driver, Charles—he was incredible. Patient, knowledgeable, kind, and fun, he made every game drive enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and comfortable, and truly enhanced the entire trip
