How NIASA came about

NIASA was born from a simple idea: that travel can have a purpose beyond the journey.

In 2022, at a time when the tourism industry was still finding its way after COVID-19, we decided to build something we had been dreaming about for years.

The name NIASA carries a meaning close to our hearts. Nia is a Swahili word for purpose.

And that is what we wanted NIASA to stand for.

Yes, we create unforgettable safari experiences across Tanzania. We take you into some of the most extraordinary landscapes on earth, introduce you to our wildlife and share the beauty of our country with you.

But for us, it goes deeper than that.

As people who care deeply about wildlife and conservation, we believe tourism should contribute to the future of the places we travel through.

That means caring for wildlife and ecosystems.
Respecting and preserving culture.
Supporting communities.
Encouraging education.
And finding ways for tourism to create value that lasts beyond the safari itself.

Some of the work we support is intentionally kept private. We believe that helping someone does not always need an audience.
