A male ostrich, also called a c**k, is a large, black-and-white bird that stands up to 9 feet tall and can weigh up to 340 lbs. He is an active defender and nurturer, performs elaborate courtship dances, and often sits on the nest at night. The male uses his bright plumage and powerful legs, which can deliver a killing kick, for defense, mating, and nest building.
