Effective 1 October 2026, all foreign visitors travelling to Mainland Tanzania will be required to have a mandatory inbound travel insurance policy issued through Tanzania’s National Insurance Corporation (NIC).

💰 Cost: USD 44 per visitor (or the equivalent amount in TZS)
📅 Coverage: Up to 92 days, with multiple entries permitted

The insurance policy provides protection for a range of travel and medical emergencies, including:

• Emergency medical treatment and hospitalization
• Emergency medical evacuation
• Repatriation of remains
• Personal accident cover
• Baggage loss or delay

You only need to purchase the required policy for your initial point of entry into Tanzania.
