Kilimanjaro moves through three clear seasons 🌤️⛰️🌧️

Dry, shoulder, or rainy, each with its own perks and trade-offs.

Weather will always shift, so these are general rules of thumb.

▪️Dry Season

Late Jun-mid Oct + late Dec-Feb
Stable skies, firm trails, and the busiest weeks of the year. Most climbers choose these windows.

Best for: predictable conditions.

▪️Shoulder Season

Mar 1-15, Jun 1-20, Oct 15-31
Short transitions with fewer people and often still-favorable weather.
The mountain feels a bit calmer and more spacious.

Best for: balance and breathing room.

▪️Rainy Season

Mid-Mar-May + late Oct-Dec
Greener, quieter, and more variable.
Routes with huts or drier northern slopes (Marangu or Rongai) tend to feel more comfortable.

Best for: least crowds and softer landscapes.

▪️Quick Guide

Dry → stable but busier
Shoulder → less busy but increased variability
Rainy → least crowds but higher chance of rain and variability

She called chimps by name, listened without judging, and dared to bridge our world and theirs.

Yesterday, we lost one of the world’s greatest voices for the wild. Jane Goodall passed away at 91, but her spirit lives on through her life’s work.

In 1960, at just 26, she entered the forests of Tanzania’s Gombe and began observing chimpanzees in a way no one had before. Over years, she uncovered behaviors once thought ‘human-only’: tool use, emotional depth, and social bonds.

For GO2KILI, Jane’s example is a guiding light. We believe exploration can awaken compassion, connection, and action. As we guide adventurers through Tanzania’s landscapes, we carry Jane’s belief: that by immersing ourselves in nature, we see more of ourselves, and discover just how deeply we belong to it.

Thank you, Jane.

👣 From Porter to Pro Guide: 10 years, three roles, one mission—get you to the top.

Nick’s Kilimanjaro story started where many do: carrying gear as a porter. But he didn’t stop there. He became a chef, then a certified guide, and now leads treks with experience, empathy, and a whole lot of heart.

🔸 Why He Guides:
For Nick, guiding is all about connection. He loves meeting people from every corner of the globe and hearing about their home countries, cultures, and languages. But nothing compares to watching someone reach the summit.

“The joy and accomplishment they feel—I feel it too.”

🔸 His Approach on the Trail:
Nick meets each client where they are. He talks with them, encourages, and listens.

“We can slow down, stop and rest, sing a song, or just breathe together; whatever it takes to keep going, safely.” His goal is simple: help them reach the summit, one step at a time, with care and confidence.

⭐ Every GO2KILI guide is WFR certified—because care and safety go hand in hand up here.

🔸 Moments That Stay With Him:
He recalls two summit days that stick with him: Helping a 7-year-old boy from India and a 76-year-old man from the U.S. both reach the top of Africa.

“Seeing both ends of the age range achieve this is powerful. It shows what’s possible with the right mindset and hard work.”

🔸 Nick’s Go-To Advice:
✅ Stay flexible: Weather changes, and so will you.
✅ Bring slip-ons: Your feet will thank you at camp.
✅ Nalgene + boiling water = portable heater + sock dryer
✅ Be thoughtful with your packing: Less is more when you’re at 15,000 ft.

🔸 Life Off the Mountain:
When the boots come off, Nick’s still close to the wild. He studies at safari guide school, reads everything he can get his hands on, and explores Arusha’s parks on foot.

🍲 Food Favorites:
• Mountain pick? “All the soups!”
• At home? Ugali and fish. Comfort food, Tanzanian style

A day on safari is a vibe! Game drives. Bush brunch. Midday naps. G&Ts with giraffes. This is the rest you’ve been looking for. A typical day on safari has a schedule…but it sure doesn’t feel like one.

5:30AM — Wake-Up Call & Coffee
The sun hasn’t risen, but your coffee’s already steeping. The wild is waking up and plains are coming alive.

6:00AM–9:00AM — Morning Game Drive
We all love our golden hour selfies but It’s also prime time for lion hunts, elephant herds at watering holes, and giraffes stretching in the soft morning light. Biscuits and bush coffee mid-drive? Absolutely.

9:30AM–11:00AM — Lodge Brunch
Fresh fruit, eggs to order, fluffy pancakes. You’ve earned it. Time to fuel up, kick back, and swap “Did you see that?!” stories from the drive.

11:30AM–1:00PM — Rest & Rejuvenation
Poolside nap. Spa massage. Or maybe a lazy bush walk. However you recharge, this is your moment to exhale.

1:00PM — Lunch with a View
Fresh greens, grilled meats, vibrant flavors—served al fresco, with zebras for company.

2:00PM–3:30PM — Siesta
Shhhh. Even the birds slow down now. Time to rest, journal, or whatevs, the time is yours.

3:30PM — Tea & Treats
Cakes, iced drinks, and savory bites before heading back into the wild. You’ll never look at “afternoon tea” the same.

4:00PM–7:00PM — Sunset Game Drive
The animals start to stir again. Giraffes grazing. Hyenas laughing. And when the sun hits the horizon, your guide hands you a sundowner :) ahhh, perfection!

7:30PM — Dinner Under the Stars
Enjoy a multi-course feast, whether dining in a firelit boma or cozy lodge setting, the ambiance is top notch; while sounds of the bush hum around you.

9:00PM — Fireside Chats & Bedtime
Maybe one nightcap before calling it a day. A hyena call in the distance. And a sky so full of stars it feels like fiction. Sleep hits different out here and you’ll be set to do it all over again.

You trained. You packed. But did you insure? 💸 Here’s what to look for when selecting a policy for Kilimanjaro.

❗️Travel insurance is mandatory
Your policy must explicitly cover trekking up to 6,000 meters (19,000+ ft), emergency medical care, and helicopter evacuation.

Checklist:
✔️ High-altitude medical + evac coverage
✔️ Trip cancellations, delays, interruptions
✔️ Lost, stolen, or delayed baggage
✔️ Coverage for Zanzibar or safari if you’re continuing after
✔️ Repatriation (return to home country in emergencies)

Top Insurance Providers We Trust:
✅ Global Rescue – Rapid response, evacuation-focused
✅ AXA – Strong global coverage + medical network
✅ True Traveller – Great for UK/EU adventure travelers
✅ Allianz – Reliable claims and comprehensive trip protection

Choose a 7–8 day itinerary for better acclimatization and a safer summit attempt.

Tip: Carry both digital & printed copies of your policy + emergency numbers.

The mountain doesn’t care if your phone dies; but you will! Here’s how to stay charged when it counts.

☀️ Solar chargers? Sounds cool, but they’re slow, bulky, and can be unreliable.

✅ A solid power bank is lighter, simpler, and just works.

How much juice do you need?
⚡ 10,000 mAh → Bare minimum for photos & occasional use

⚡ 15,000–20,000 mAh → The sweet spot for most trekkers

⚡ 20,000+ mAh → Best if you’re filming, GoPro’ing, or sharing every step

Trek-tested tips:
🔌 Store your power bank in your sleeping bag to protect it from freezing temps

📴 Airplane mode + dim screen = saves 50% battery daily

🔁 Always bring a short charging cable (plus a backup!)

🔋 Top up to 80% in short bursts—it’s better for your gear

25 years. Every route. Every summit dream.

For Naftali, Kilimanjaro is everything. He has put most of his life’s work into the mountain; from five years as a porter to decades as a top guide, he’s seen Kilimanjaro at its best, worst, and everything in between.

🔸 Why He Guides:
“Climbers dream of this moment for years. When they reach the top, it’s my greatest achievement.”

“I remind them: The pain is temporary, but the victory lasts forever.”

🔸 Naftali’s Golden Rules for the Summit:
✅ You’ll never walk alone
✅ If anything feels off, let us know—we know this place better than anyone.
✅ “Communication is key. We’re here to make sure you succeed safely.”

🔸 How we encourages climbers:
“Follow the pace of the leader. If you push too hard, you’ll lose the battle. Slow and steady wins Kilimanjaro.”

⭐ Every GO2KILI guide is WFR certified—trained to handle anything from altitude headaches to real emergencies.

🔸 First-Timer Tip:
“Train before you come—jogging makes a huge difference. Trust your guide. Perfect practice makes perfect.”

🔸 Most Unforgettable Moment?
A group of four men wanted to take a summit photo… completely naked. He let them do it (after checking the weather and for bystanders, of course), and it became one of his most memorable Kili moments.

🔸 Off the mountain?
Family hugs, hot showers, and a moment to breathe before it’s time to guide the next dreamer.

Before Kilimanjaro stole the spotlight… there was Ngorongoro. 🌋

Millions of years ago, it was thought to be the tallest peak in East Africa — until one explosive eruption brought it crashing down. Resulting in a collapsed caldera now teeming with life… and the ash plains that became the Serengeti.

This is the origin story of one of Earth’s wildest kingdoms.

Meet Ayubu 👣 From Porter to Pro Guide: 8+ years. Countless treks, and one mountain that keeps calling.

Ayubu didn’t start as a guide, he earned it. From carrying gear as a porter to mastering the trail as a guide, he’s soaked up every step of Kilimanjaro.

🔸Why He Guides:
“I love nature. I love being wild. And I love the adventure of it all.” He’s here for the stories, the struggle, and that unreal moment when climbers touch the sky.

🔸 Ayubu’s Golden Rules for the Summit:
✅ Pole pole is the secret
✅ Hydrate like your life depends on it (it kinda does)
✅ Fuel up—don’t skip meals
✅ Keep your mindset mountain-strong

🔸Toughest Moment?
A client developed severe altitude sickness after a 12-hour summit push. Ayubu and his crew carried them down on their backs, through the night. That climber later said: “I owe you everything.”

⭐Every GO2KILI guide is WFR certified—trained to handle anything from altitude headaches to real emergencies.

🔸 First-Timer Tip:
“You can do this. Just go slow, stay hydrated, and ask your doc about Diamox.”

🔸 Off the mountain?
Ayubu’s all about rest, storytelling, and family time (after a well-earned nap, of course).
