CINNAMON -BRACKEN WARBLER -
BRADYPTERUS CINNAMOMEUS
It is a species of Old World warbler in the family Locustellidae. It is found in Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Southern Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
Adult nominate and western race are uniform rufous-brown or dark brown above with a long buffy supercilium, white throat and centre of belly, and a bright warm rufous band across the breast and flanks.
Pairs or small family parties are common in undergrowth, at forest edge and in bracken, mainly over 1000m. Creeps around thick cover and usually located by it's loud song, or by a flash of rufous as it flies.
Builds a cup-shaped nest, which is a compact structure from leaf skeleton and other plant fragments and grass stalks and blades, which is built close to the ground in a thick undergrowth or hidden in grass tussock.
Breed at the end of the rainy season, laying a clutch of 2-3 eggs.
