Ascent and descent times vary by route. Kilimanjaro can be climbed by any fit person in good health with the assistance of experienced mountain guides and porters. It can be climbed at any time of the year.

AVAILABLE INTINERARIES:

DAY 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to Kijenge Guesthouse in Arusha.

DAY 2: Breakfast, Drive to the gate of Londorosi for a few minutes of registration and other formalities. The 4WD landrover or van will take you further up to Lemosho glades. From there you can walk for about 4hrs to Mti Mkubwa Campsite (9,200ft). Dinner and overnight at the camp, B.L.D.

2. MARANGU ROUTE – 7 DAYS

The Marangu route up Mt Kilimanjaro is known as the “Coca Cola” route. It is considered the least difficult and fastest of the routes up the mountain. Because of the option of indoor sleeping, it is a popular route during rainy season.

Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to Kijenge Guesthouse in Arusha.

DAY 2: Breakfast then drive from your guesthouse to Marangu gate. We will spend about two hours for registration, payments of fees and final parking. Start climbing through dense semi-tropical forest to the first hut- Mandara hut (9,000ft). Dinner and an overnight stay at Mandara hut, B.L.D.

DAY 3: Breakfast, ascend through the alpine meadow, grassland and moorland to Horombo hut (12,000ft). Both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks can be viewed easily on the way. Dinner and an overnight stay at Horombo hut, B.L.D.

DAY 4: Breakfast, further ascending to Kibo hut (15,000ft). The landscape becomes very stony and eroded. At this point in the climb there is spectacular mountain vegetation like giant cactus, groundswell and lobelia. Dinner and an overnight stay at Kibo hut, B.L.D.

DAY 5: Wake up at midnight and, after a snack, proceed to the summit through Gilman’s point (18,640ft). It is about 5-6 hours from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point and 1-2 hours from Gilman’s point to Uhuru Peak (19,340ft). You will reach the peak in the early morning of the fifth day and start descending after taking photos of you on the highest point in Africa! You will descend to Horombo hut for dinner and an overnight after a short break at Kibo hut, B.L.D.

DAY 1:

ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch for full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the center piece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser Kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your camp.

ACCOMMODATIONS; BOUGAINVILLEA SAFARI LODGE

DAY 2:

TARANGIRE TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never ending plain grasslands. The Serengeti is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the daylong game drive itself. The eventful day ends with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your camp.

ACCOMMODATION; SERENGETI SAFARI LODGE

DAY 3.

FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

The whole day will be spent on a game drive in the central Serengeti National Park. The areas you will visit depend upon the location of the herds. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south while during the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north. This circle of life is determined by the rainfalls and locations of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. A visit to the Serengeti Visitor Centre is also possible. Here you can learn more about the history of the park and the research that is being done by the Frankfurter Zoological Society.

ACCOMMODATION; SERENGETI SAFARI LODGE

Ngorongoro Crater
DAY 4:

SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER TOUR

After an early breakfast, depart from Serengeti and descend to the crater floor for game drive (5 hours). You can expect to see lions, elephants, Zebras, Hippos, Flamingos, Jackals, Rhinos Antelopes and many birds. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, Kori bustard, blacksmith plover, long necked heron and the cattle eagle. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 2hr drive left to your accommodation in Karatu, the day will come to a close. Freshly made delicious dinner is kept ready for you at your camp. All these days of the safari, will have you quite tired and a good rest is essential. The next day you will begin the last leg of your safari.

ACCOMMODATION; BUGAINVILLEA SAFARI LODGE

DAY 6:

LAKE MANYARA TO ARUSHA

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and heading to Lake Manyara National Park. The small park stretches along the 600 m high Rift Valley Escarpment and is dominated by the alkaline Lake Manyara. Many water birds gather at the lake and more than 400 bird species are found in the park. The diverse vegetation provides a habitat for many animals such as monkeys in the forest, giraffes and antelopes on the grasslands and elephants around the acacia trees. If you are very lucky you might also see the Manyara lions, lounging in the trees. In the late afternoon, you will leave the Park and heading to Arusha for overnight.

ACCOMMODATION; PLANET LODGE

DAY 7:

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK DAY TOUR

After Breakfast, you will drive to Arusha National Park. This is beautiful park and it has an awe- inspiring blend of vegetation which includes swamp, grasslands and mountain slopes of Meru which are swathed in tropical rainforest. It’s a unique ecosystem that attracts thousands of animals and birds. You will be accompanied by a ranger who will guide you through rainforest up to a sparkling waterfall where you will be able to spot black and white colobus monkeys going about their day. After lunch at the picnic site you will have a game drive through a wider scope of the park, including the lake of Momella and the Ngurdoto crater and you will most likely spot buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, warthogs, zebra and gazelle as well as a host of different bird species.
