East African Safari And Touring Company

East African Safari And Touring Company EASTCO is a Tanzanian - Australian family business, a family with over 30 years of living, volunteer

Founded in 1992, The East African Safari And Touring Company started life as a one-car, one staff outfit intent on plugging the gap that existed between the budget safari market and that of the luxury safari. The recognition of a growing middle market, that sought the reliability of the up-market operators without the exclusivity of price and attitude that accompanied it, was an important thread of the business ethos. The modus operandi reflected this philosophy, using high quality camping equipment, custom-built 4WD Safari vehicles and a personal attention to the client's needs so as to carve a reputation for EASTCO as an operator of integrity, dynamism and versatility.

"Charles at Eastco helped put together our dream adventure holiday. He was very responsive and helpful. We were time poor, so we trusted Charles, and he nailed it, from the airport pickup to finding last minute accommodation.

Even down to the guide, Aziz, who was a perfect match for us. He was so knowledgeable and managed our adventure (not just spotting animals, but how to find them). We could search together, laugh together and learn about Tanzania and the ecosystem though the National parks and Conservation areas (Tarangire, Southern Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Western Serengeti, Central Serengeti.

The journey was amazing with immediate animal sightings in Tarangerie. We tracked a lion after hearing it near our camp, looking for the signs, the paw prints. Into Southern, it was amazing to see where the migration starts, and who stays behind and why. In Ngorongoro, we were amazed to see 6 rhinos (3 very close up), which was amazing.

Heading into Western Serengeti, we saw the migration. We learnt a lot more about the ecosystem, symbiotic relationships of animals and plants and of course survival.

Central Serengeti, we were so fortunate to see a Cheetah mother (and daughter) plan their hunt. And leopards, they were hard to find, but not for Aziz. We spent a lot of our time not seeing another car. We saw all the Top5, most of the ugly 5 and even the leopard tortoise and other rarities.

An awesome experience!"

We're all about taking you off-the-beaten-path and part of that is meeting local people when on safari, both in towns and in rural communities.

Happy World Lion Day ๐Ÿฆ

Most male lions grow impressive manes the older they get. These manes grow up to 16cm long and are a sign of dominance. However, not all male lions have manes. โ€˜Manelessโ€™ male lions are common in parts of Africa, such as Tsavo National Park in Kenya. This is thought to be an adaptation to the local climate, as manes can reduce heat loss.

We love Ruaha National Park ๐Ÿฆ

Our guests constantly update us on their love for Ruaha too. So for us to be able to show this beautiful park to travellers, is a joy we never tire of.

Ruaha National Park is Tanzania's largest park, covering over 20,000 square kilometers. It offers a wild, uncrowded safari experience with massive elephant herds, prolific predators including lions and wild dogs, striking baobab-studded landscapes, and a true sense of remote solitude far from tourist crowds.

Join us on safari in 2026 and 2027.

"WOW, what a trip of a lifetime."

"The four of us Rob, Phil and the two Sarah's, as everyone called them, travelled through Tanzania with simply the best guide there was. Wilson was brilliant, he took care of us ever day and sorted all our issues out, He even ensured we got on the correct plane when leaving for Zanzibar.

The organisation by Charles was brilliant, everything was perfect and I cannot recommend this company enough. If you are thinking of going to Tanzania, then think Eastco as we could not fault them one bit."
