EASTCO is a Tanzanian - Australian family business, a family with over 30 years of living, volunteer

Founded in 1992, The East African Safari And Touring Company started life as a one-car, one staff outfit intent on plugging the gap that existed between the budget safari market and that of the luxury safari. The recognition of a growing middle market, that sought the reliability of the up-market operators without the exclusivity of price and attitude that accompanied it, was an important thread o

f the business ethos. The modus operandi reflected this philosophy, using high quality camping equipment, custom-built 4WD Safari vehicles and a personal attention to the client's needs so as to carve a reputation for EASTCO as an operator of integrity, dynamism and versatility.

🦁 Lions will get most of their fluid intake from the animals they eat, but they do drink from water sources such as rivers, and even on occasion by eating plants when in need.

Tanzania’s tree-climbing lions 🦁

Found primarily in Lake Manyara National Park, but can also be seen in the Serengeti NP and Tarangire NP. They are famous for lounging high in acacia and sausage trees, a unique behavior to escape heat, avoid insects (and sometimes disgruntled buffalo), and to also occasionally survey prey.

L E O P A R D D A Y 🐆

When our guests finally see a leopard on our safaris and they tick off one of their bucketlist animals, they are often surprised at how small a leopard actually is. In fact, leopards are the smallest of the "great cats" with males weighing 80–150 lbs and females 60–100 lbs.

So when you see a leopard carrying their kill and hoisting it up into a tree, you'll understand just how strong and agile a leopard is.
