Listen to this… ‘It is impossible for me to adequately describe how wonderful African Traits and all of its team members are. Planning our Tanzania adventure started a year ago as a small family trip to visit our son, our group quickly grew and settled at 30 people. To accommodate all of our interests and schedules, Godfrey and his team created a 12 day and an 8 day itinerary, with multiple airport pick ups and countless schedule changes along the way. We ultimately had 6 jeeps and the best guides in all of Africa to show us the highlights of Tanzania. We hugged our guides when they dropped us off at the Seronera airstrip (some of us had tears!) because our experiences together were so moving and memorable. Tanzania and its people are of the most beautiful on the planet. Putting up with 30 people and our shenanigans must have been exhausting, but this team of true professionals never made us feel anything but welcome. I would go back tomorrow if I could, and if I did, I would definitely use African Traits’ ✨

These incredibly majestic creatures with the most incredible eye lashes in all the animal kingdom are the National animal of Tanzania. Known for their grace, powerful hearts, unique patterns and incredible height this animal is a must see on safari in Tanzania 😍

Giraffes have a unique challenge when it comes to drinking. Their necks are too short to reach the ground, so they must splay their forelegs and/or bend their knees to lower their necks to the water’s surface. Giraffe surprisingly drink only once every few days, even when water is readily available 💦

Can you picture yourself tracking chimpanzees in the Budongo Central Forest? 🌳🐒

Day one: You will check in at your hotel then acclimatize. Optional city tour depending on arrival time, or staying behind to relax. Briefing about your safari is also done before overnight at your chosen hotel.
•
Day two: Breaking up the long journey to reach Murchison falls National park we start with a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a rewarding and captivating experience. After lunch we continue the journey to Murchison falls National park, and head straight to the Top of the Falls. View the spectacular falls with breathtaking views and good spots for memorable photos. Thereafter proceed to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
•
Day three: After an early rise, embark on the morning game drive in the hope of seeing a number of the big five and other African wildlife. Return for late breakfast and time to relax until lunch enjoying what the lodge has to offer. In the afternoon we have a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, here we may be lucky to find some of the animals that come to drink water and cool off, hippo schools, crocodiles, Birds, and lizards! Optional activity available: Boarding off at the bottom of the falls and Hiking to the top of the falls, are you up to the challenge?
•
Day four: After an early breakfast, we head to Budongo Forest for Chimpanzee Trekking. Including 3-4 hours tracking the Chimpanzees followed by a lunch stop en-route as you head back to Kampala.
•
Day five: If your departure flight time allows we shall embark on a city tour around Kampala and include stops for souvenir shopping and viewing historical sites. We will ensure we drop you off to the airport in time for your flight.

Just like Steve and his friends who enjoyed a three day Safari to Tanzania with our team. Steve said ‘Where do I start. First of all the customer service was second to none. We had organised a 4 day safari but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cut it down to 3 days the day before our safari. African traits was extremely accomodating made everything work. Ben our safari guide was one of the most polite, educated, caring guides I have ever had (this is my 3rd safari). In tough conditions with the rain we didn’t miss a thing seeing more lions than ever before and the whole big 5. I could not recommend this company enough and shall I do another safari it will be with them again!!!‘

Day one: Arrival in Kenya with transfer to your hotel in Nairobi for a rest a leisure day.

Day two: Travel through the banana, pineapple, coffee and tea plantation to arrive at your base hotel for lunch. Pack an overnight bag and transfer to your overnight game viewing tree hotel, set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, enjoy leisure game viewing from your balcony!

Day Three: Return to the base hotel after breakfast and continue the journey to the slopes of Mount Kenya and the famous Mount Kenya Safari Club. Here we will have lunch, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day four: Continue on our journey to Lake Nakuru National Park with an en-route game drive. After lunch at the hotel, proceed on an afternoon game drive in the park returning later for dinner and overnight.

Day five: Our adventure to the Masai Mara begins. Every year, this northern extension to the famous Serengeti National Park witnesses the awe-inspiring wildebeest migration. Lunch, dinner, and overnight at Mara Safari Club.

Day six and seven: Embark on two days of morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The “big five” – elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino are quite common. Today, you may opt for an early morning hot air balloon excursion!

Day eight: Breakfast at your lodge. The trip proceeds to Isebania border for your Tanzania safari, or drive back to Nairobi arriving late afternoon for a farewell dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Transfer to the airport to catch your outbound flight.
