We will start the climb at around midnight. After reaching Stella Point we will finish the summit climb to Uhuru peak just as the sun appears over the Mawenzi peaks. We will be at Uhuru peak (19,370ft) around 6-7 am. We will start our descent, which is steep and rigorous via Stella Point to Barafu Hut Camp.

Day Eight:
Today’s final hike descending 4,500 feet to the park gate. We will check out and receive Kilimanjaro climbing certificate at the park gate office. After lunch, we will drive back to Arusha.

Not all safari moments come with a roar… Some come with a buzz 🐝

Spotted right on the rocks in Tanzania, this incredible wild beehive is a reminder that Africa’s ecosystems are full of small wonders… Not just the Big Five. These bees play a vital role in pollination, helping sustain the plants that support entire wildlife chains…

Unlike managed hives, wild colonies like this choose their own homes, often in surprising places, and work together in highly organised communities. Each bee has a role, from foragers to protectors, all contributing to the survival of the hive…

On safari, it’s these unexpected encounters that make the experience truly unforgettable. You never know what nature will reveal next 🐝

Ready for the migration?? August to October is the best time to view… get booking… Africantraits.com 🦓

Day one: After arrival the night before with overnight at a hotel in Arusha we depart after an early breakfast. Driving to Ngorongoro where we will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. After our game drive, we will ascend from the crater to our overnight accommodation.

Day two: We head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy a full afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park.

Day three: After breakfast, we depart for Serengeti North for a game drive viewing the great migration. River crossings at Kogatende start in August as the mega herd settles into the area. Between August- October, game viewing is at its best with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day.

Day four: A full-day game drive viewing the great migration at the Mara area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area. The key feature is the Mara River but please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. However you will still enjoy the stunning scenery in the area filled with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and open plains, similar to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Day five: After Breakfast we will depart from the accommodation with a lunch box packed to the Kogatende airstrip where you will catch a flight to Arusha.

Sun-soaked and perfectly camouflaged 🌞🦎

Meet one of Africa’s smaller (but no less fascinating) residents: the Agama lizard. Often spotted basking on rocks, these reptiles use the warmth of the sun to power their day…

While the males can flash brilliant colors during breeding season, this one blends beautifully into the landscape, nature’s perfect disguise…

On safari, it’s not just about the Big Five… it’s about the little moments too…
