THE NORTHEN CIRCUIT WILDERNESS ROUTE VIA THE SHIRA PLATEAU!!

This special route on Mount Kilimanjaro is by a wide margin the least-used route, taking you far from the crowds on other parts of the mountain. This is the most deverse and complete "Grand Traverse" of Kilimanjaro from West to East, and by far the most remote trail.
The trail head is at high elevation and this you start slow and easy on this route. The trail begins on the shira plateau and the hike across the plateau is said to be one of the most stunningly beautiful in Africa. All night climbing to make the top at sunrise, it was -19c with ice cold winds and no sun most of the climb and after 5 layers of clothing, that made me feel like I was the Michelin guy, I was still very very cold. I'm definitely not made for the cold! :p
