SAFARI ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park via Dar es Salaam
Your adventure begins with an early morning ferry ride from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, a journey of approximately two hours across the Indian Ocean. Upon arrival at the Dar es Salaam ferry terminal, you’ll be greeted by your professional safari driver-guide and begin the overland transfer to Mikumi National Park in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, offering scenic views of rural Tanzania and the Uluguru Mountains along the way. Arriving at Mikumi in the afternoon, you’ll embark on your first game drive, where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, antelope, and more across the park’s open plains. After the safari, check into your lodge or tented camp inside or near the park, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by nature.
Day 2 – Mikumi National Park to Zanzibar
Begin the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active and the golden savannah offers incredible photo opportunities. After the safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and prepare for your journey back. Depart Mikumi and travel by 4x4 vehicle to Dar es Salaam, with arrival in the late afternoon. Once in Dar, board the evening ferry back to Zanzibar, concluding your two-day safari with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s rich wildlife and natural beauty.
