Welcome to Morning Journal 17 💙

Today we're moving into the wellness heart of our retreat with something very close to my heart — Pilates & Movement by the Ocean.

Imagine moving your body with the warm Zanzibar breeze around you, the sound of the ocean in the background and absolutely no pressure to perform. 🌊

Our sessions aren't about being the strongest, the most flexible or getting every movement perfect. They're about feeling good in your body, releasing tension, improving mobility and taking a little time each day just for YOU.

Whether you regularly exercise or haven't done Pilates before, you are completely welcome. Everything can be adapted so that you can move comfortably at your own pace.

I want you to leave each session feeling lighter, stronger, calmer and energised — ready to enjoy everything Zanzibar has waiting for us. 🌺

Today's little reminder:

Progress, not perfection.
Listen to your body. Move with kindness. Breathe deeply. And most importantly… enjoy it. 💙

I honestly cannot think of a more beautiful place for us to move, breathe and reconnect than beside the Indian Ocean.

🌴 Good Morning 🌴

Welcome to Morning Journal 16 💙

Today's journal is a little different. It's not about where we're going or what we're doing... it's about giving ourselves permission to slow down.

Zanzibar has this beautiful way of reminding you that life doesn't always need to be rushed. The warm breeze, the ocean, the sunsets and the gentle rhythm of island life invite you to simply be.

I created this retreat not to change your life in seven days, but to give you something we so rarely give ourselves — time and space. Time to rest, laugh, move, explore, connect and perhaps rediscover a little piece of yourself along the way. 🌿

Today's Swahili word is Pumzika — Rest. Relax.
And that's exactly what I hope you allow yourself to do while we're together.

Don't feel that every moment needs to be filled. Sometimes the unexpected coffee, the quiet five minutes beside the ocean, or a conversation with someone you've only just met becomes one of the memories you treasure most.

So today, give yourself five quiet minutes. Put down your phone, breathe deeply and simply notice what's around you. 💙

You don't have to do anything. Just be.

🌴 Good Morning 🌴

Welcome to Morning Journal 15 of our journey to beautiful Zanzibar. 💙

Today we're learning a little more about something I absolutely love about Zanzibar — the warmth of the Swahili culture, its greetings, customs and celebrations.

A simple greeting means so much on the island. Taking a moment to say “Habari?”, answering “Nzuri, salama”, or thanking someone with “Asante sana” is a beautiful way of showing respect and connecting with the people we meet.

We're also discovering a little about Eid in Zanzibar. 🌙 During this special celebration, families dress beautifully, visit one another, share wonderful meals and often give gifts, particularly to children. “Eid Mubarak” means “Blessed Eid” and reflects the generosity, togetherness and joy of the occasion.

Today's Swahili word is “Salama” — meaning peace, well or safe. Such a simple word, but such a beautiful sentiment. 💙

One of the things I hope we all take home from Zanzibar is not only memories of beautiful beaches, but a genuine appreciation for the people, their traditions and their way of life.

Travel with an open heart, show respect, smile often and don't be afraid to try your Swahili! 🌺

🌅 Good Morning 🌅

Welcome to Morning Journal 14 of our journey to beautiful Zanzibar. 💙

Today I'm sharing what I believe is one of the most magical experiences you can have on the island... our Private Sunset Dhow Dinner.

As the afternoon fades, we'll step aboard a beautifully handcrafted traditional dhow and sail across the calm waters of the Indian Ocean. With the warm sea breeze, spectacular sunset colours and the gentle rhythm of the ocean, it's one of those moments where time simply seems to stand still.

We'll enjoy a delicious seafood feast, refreshing drinks and wonderful company as we watch the sky transform into shades of gold, orange and pink. It's the perfect opportunity to relax, connect and celebrate the incredible memories we're creating together.

Today's Swahili word is "Mashua", meaning "Traditional Dhow." These beautiful wooden sailing boats have been part of Zanzibar's history for centuries and remain one of the island's most treasured symbols.

This is so much more than a dinner... it's an experience filled with laughter, connection and unforgettable moments under an African sunset.

I truly can't wait to share this magical evening with you.

Welcome to Morning Journal 13 of our journey to beautiful Zanzibar. 💙

Today we're exploring the vibrant Northern Coast of Zanzibar, a place where turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and authentic island life come together beautifully.

Our Northern Explorer is one of my favourite experiences because it gives you the opportunity to see the real Zanzibar beyond the resorts. We'll wander through the lively village of Nungwi, watch skilled craftsmen building traditional wooden dhows using techniques passed down through generations, relax on the beautiful beaches of Kendwa, and experience the warmth and hospitality of the local community.

Along the way you'll discover fascinating local markets, talented artisans and the relaxed rhythm of life that makes this part of the island so special.

Today's Swahili word is "Pwani", meaning "Coast." It's the perfect word for today's adventure as we discover one of the most beautiful coastlines in East Africa.

Every experience I have chosen has been carefully curated to help you discover the true heart of Zanzibar—not just the places, but also the wonderful people and rich culture that make this island so unforgettable.

🌴 Good Morning 🌴

Welcome to Morning Journal 12 of our journey to beautiful Zanzibar. 💙

Today we're heading to the beautiful South Coast of Zanzibar for one of my favourite handpicked experiences.

This excursion is the perfect combination of nature, adventure, relaxation and breathtaking scenery. We'll begin with a guided walk through Jozani Forest, home to the rare Red Colobus Monkeys found nowhere else in the world. From there we'll cool off with a swim in the crystal-clear waters of Maalum Cave, before enjoying a delicious lunch in Paje, one of Zanzibar's most beautiful beach villages.

To end the day, we'll enjoy a refreshing cocktail at the world-famous Rock Restaurant, taking in one of the most iconic ocean views on the island as the sun begins to set.

This is one of those days that truly captures the heart of Zanzibar and creates memories you'll treasure forever.

Today's Swahili word is "Safari", meaning "Journey." Every journey is about more than the destination—it's about the experiences, the people you meet and the memories you create along the way.
