🌱 Learning by Doing: UK Students Growing a Greener Future in the Usambara Mountains! 🌍

During their “Trekking for Climate Change” visit to the Usambara Mountains, students from the UK had the opportunity to go beyond classroom learning and get their hands dirty at a Friends of Usambara tree nursery.

As part of their learning-by-doing experience, the students participated in nursery preparation, preparing growing spaces, handling seedlings, and learning about the importance of raising healthy trees for landscape restoration. 🌿

This hands-on experience helped connect climate education with practical action. By working alongside the Friends of Usambara team, the students experienced how local communities are contributing to reforestation, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.

Every seedling represents more than just a tree — it represents hope, knowledge, community action, and a healthier future for the Usambara Mountains. 💚

🌱🌍 Trek for Climate Change: Learning, Exploring & Restoring Nature! 🌍🌱

Through our Trek for Climate Change tour package, Friends of Usambara Society (FoU) welcomes students and tourists, especially from Europe, to experience the beauty of the Usambara Mountains while actively contributing to environmental conservation.

During their visit, our guests joined local community members in planting trees for agroforestry on a community farm. Together, we are promoting sustainable farming practices, restoring degraded landscapes, improving soil health, protecting biodiversity, and supporting communities to build a more resilient future.

This is more than a tour—it is an opportunity to learn, connect, and take meaningful climate action. Every tree planted today is a step toward a greener and healthier Usambara landscape for future generations. 🌳💚
