🌍 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025 — WE SHOWED UP FOR OUR PLANET! 🌱
Today, we did more than talk—we took action. 💪🏾

We gathered at Nkweshoo Primary School together with a non profit organisation under the name Tanzania Development Action (TADA) to educate young minds and local hearts about protecting the environment. Together, we walked 1.5 km through our community, collecting 6 sacks full of plastic waste — every bottle, every step, a move toward a cleaner home. ♻️

Then, with passion in our hands and hope in the soil, we planted over 230 trees — fruit trees, shade trees, and legacy trees 🌳 that will outgrow us, and outlive us.

And yes... we shared a meal. Because community is everything. 💚

This is what real change looks like: learning, doing, growing—together.

Today we were fortunate to welcome our dear friends from Germany, Martin and Irmgard. Their connection to Machame runs deep, as they have considered this place their second home for more than a decade. Over the years, their visits have become a cherished tradition, and each time they return, it feels like reuniting with family. They are always captivated by the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds us — from the lush greenery and majestic views of Mount Kilimanjaro to the serene charm of our local landscapes. Martin and Irmgard also delight in exploring the many attractions our community has to offer, whether it’s engaging with local culture, enjoying nature walks, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Of course, no visit would be complete without indulging in the delicious local cuisine, which they always look forward to with great enthusiasm. Their continued presence reminds us of the strong bonds that grow through shared experiences and heartfelt connections.
