The Umbwe route starts with a quick hike through lush rainforests, followed by dry moors, and leading up to cold deserts with sub-zero temperatures.
The Kilimanjaro Umbwe route is a rather short, 6-day trek, with fast ascends and steep slopes. You will walk on tricky ridges and gain altitude fast, with little time for acclimatisation, all while enjoying sprawling views of glaciers and volcanic outcrops of the Kangra Valley.
